Amazing captures. You’ve convinced me. I’m definitely going to buy a 224

nice captures just got 8"celestron evo looking to do some images soon are you happy with the camera still undecided what to get 👍

8 celestron is a very nice scope. The camera is great for the moon, planets and bright objects. For EAA purposes it's a very good camera but if you would want to take longer exposures and have less noise you would be better of with 294/533 or any of the models better suited for that.

@@hondvantrond am using alt az mount so not great for long exposures?

@@spaceandsky1829 +10 seconds you will get a lot of noise. But you can take many short ones and stack them :)

Hey, I am looking into buying this camera. I have an 8” dob, would I be able to take nice footage of DSO’s with this camera and my dob? Or is it only possible with an equatorial mount? Thanks for the video
@astrothib9 ай бұрын
Hello, thanks! With an 8 inch dob you will be very zoomed in on all the objects. This is nice for the moon and planets but will be very tricky on DSO's without an equatorial mount. The problem is that putting an 8 inch dob on an equatorial mount is an issue on itself. So this camera is great to use with your dob and an equatorial platform instead of mount (for solar system footage and some DSO' that are okay on a high focal lenght (like the ring nebula)). For DSO something like a zwo 294 will be better suited but you'll still need the platform for good captures. Or you get a smaller scope with something like a star tracker or small eq mount, that would work too.

I just got the 224. Would you be willing to share your settings for the images you took?

This is amazing, just what I was looking for! I am convinced the 224mc is what I need. A question though, do you think I would be able to get some similair DSO results with my F4.8 10" Newtonian?
@astrothib Жыл бұрын
If you have an EQ platform, goto, or something to track, your results will be impressive, especially on bright objects like M57, M28 etc. You'll need a focal reducer though due to the FOV of the 224mc.

@@astrothib Hi mate, I have a NEQ6 Pro so should be ok! Would a 0.5 x focal reducer be a good option? Thanks!
@astrothib Жыл бұрын
@@ProcyonAlpha That is a fine mount you have there! :) Yes, I bought a cheap 0.5 focal reducer and it's perfect. I upgraded in the meantime to a new camera though (533 mcp) so I'll upload some pics of that soon. Still use the 224mc for guiding and planetary stuff.
