EACHINE EV200D still good in 2019? - Dual Diversity, USB Power, DVR - FULL REVIEW

Have em. Love em. Had zero module issues or in flight drop outs. So many possibilities for coverage with various antenna setups that I think do have a big impact on performance in different environments vs. traditional diversity. Going into a field I can put 2 or 3 large patches. Flying tight technical or indoors I can put 2 or 3 pagoda's (one horizontal / one vertical) with a patch or two focused in areas of greatest dropout. I'm sure HDO's + Rapidfire is superior but for the money I think it's a solid setup with a unique feature set no one else offers at any price.

I've had mine for about three months now. I think they might be one of the most under-rated goggles out there. Rapid-fire is great but at a big price. If you're just flying fpv yourself and not racing there's no super big need for the expensive stuff.

I loved mine too, but the right display failed after only 2 months. With only a 30 day warranty from Banggood, they say Im out of luck. $350 for the goggles, and 2 batteries, and I got to use them for leds than 60 days. They are really sick goggles, imo, but I would not have bought them if I knew the warranty was only 30 days. Seems a little disingenuous to leave that fact out, everywhere I see them hyped up, or discussed as a viable option. Can anyone of influence honestly endorse these with only a 30 day warranty? Enjoy yours if they still work. Seriously, I am super jealous.

Just going to put it out there. I love my ev200d there are some issues none the less. The goggles are excellent once you are on the right channel and have the display in the goggles. I have noticed the following issues. The channel scan takes for ever to enable and for ever to actually lock. Also sometimes the goggles won't find my quad as I have various PAL / NTSC setups. Both issues are resolved by findings one of the truly supported channels on the goggles channel list and setting this to your quad and goggles manually, this entirely solves the issue. As for the NTSC / PAL issue if the quad isn't found turn off the goggles while quad is on and recycle the power on the goggles this resolves this too. The reason being that upon powering on the goggles decide to be NTSC / PAL. I hope this helps others as I could find no information anywhere, yet these solved all my issues. Also I recommend a good battery and connect with XT60 like I got a 2s 6000mah and this rocks. It set me back maybe 25 euro. I am not a reviewer or anything just like helping where I can, like Jonathan Davis just don't vlog or make content so here is my info. I agree 100%. My pair describes just as yours. SLOW channel scan for sure. HOWEVER, as you stated, perfect performance and the DVR freakin' rocks! Love them for the bucks. Don't understand people jacking out the modules right away and putting in others. Those modules that come with it work perfectly for me.

The only issue I have is the channel scanning but once your used to that and have everything on the how you wish all is well and you can stick to the same channel to make it easier. Yet they are excellent just got rapidfire for them as a treat will let you know how i do as i was getting sick of being stuck on certain channels.

I love the Eachine ev200d, I have them for 6 months and have an incredible image for the price they have. For me they are at the level of fatshark HDO, not in quality d finishes but in image quality and reception. They have a higher FOV than most FPV glasses and a better resolution. You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the review. I thought they did fine for me. Better than I was expecting. Some people had issues with modules going out. Fatsharks have also had problems with the screens just one day going black. Dead screen syndrome.

Fantastic review. I've been thinking about buying these and was hesitating because of no new reviews. Thank you so much for helping make my decision. I started with the eachine ev800d 6 months ago. I absolutely love those things. They're great if your eyes aren't perfect. I had some banggood credits and used them to order the ev100 with the DVR yesterday. The credits paid for the goggles and a few other little items. Gotta love Banggood. The video was a day late. Lol Since I'm new to the Hobby I thought I'd give the 100's a try. I can always use it as a ride along goggle. Based on what I saw I will most likely order the 200 this week. Once again fantastic review thoroughly enjoyed it.

I bought these several months ago and I love them! I mainly fly with my Eachine trashcan and being native 16:9 is great. I mainly run it at 25 mw but when I punch it up to 200 it’s great. And while the long press for dvr is annoying it’s not too bad.

Love my EV200D's. ONLY issue I have is it's a bit sucky the way it scans channels, "beeping" and SLOW is not a great combination. OTHER than that, freakin' happy, stock config too. A pair of RHCP Aomways (blue), one on either side, top position and a "Menace Bandicoot" patch on one side with a "Miko" patch on the other. Awesome reception. Absolute lock-on, clean. Have EV200D for 2+ years already. Awesome analog receiving, definitely good HD screens and HDMI input which make them SharkByte capable (mounting SB receiver module on EV200D though is another story), good IPD adjusting and comfortable to wear. Cons - DVR recording is prone for random frame skipping and abnormal brightness deviations, menu is slow, inconvenient - especially channel search and DVR - and every action beep is so loud that can wake up the whole house in night. Full channel search between ranges is pretty inconvenient and slow plus beep like a room full of seasoned sailors. In my opinion EV200D would be perfect middle budget googles if Eachine would fix DVR issues and improve menu actions to make them more convenient.

I used the nice barrel plug and cabel and threw out that junky battery. I soldered up a usb port to fit the output of a 1350mah Anker power bank. It does indeed run fine through its provided 5v 2.4A and I can get probably close to 3 hours flying. Little heavy but fits, and balances well the 4 antennas off the front. Loved them 10 months and counting!

I think the EV200D are currently one of the best goggles to start fpv with. Yes, they are more expensive than the 800D or 800DM, but also hold a higher resell value should you not like the hobby but considering the DJI HD system I think there is value to be had, because the DJI analog latency is fixed now and should you decide to switch to HD you can bring along one of the modules of the 200D for your whoops and dont have to buy an extra module. You would have to, if you would start with a cheap box goggle and that brings the 200D way up value wise, regarding the direction the hobby is going.

How do they compare to the EV300s'? Would you recommend waiting, as far as they are nearly never in stock. I prefer flying in a 16:9 ratio and I believe the 200d's are better for that. The only downside is that they almost cost the same on BG

I've bought them around Feb 2019 and the only thing I hate is pushing DVR button for at least 10 seconds for entering REC mode... I really don't get it (ad it seems that no firmware update is foreseen to solve this "issue"). For the rest, I' used to put three patch and one omni covering a lot of range with a remarkably wide FOV. Cheers

Same opinion on those, i love em, and i run the exact same setup with 3 Patch (1 Menace, 2xAntennenfreund Micro SETI) and one Omni (Antennenfreund Propfräse) and its outperforming pretty much anything but crossfire. Sometimes i switch to 3x helical with a narrowish beam width of around 60° that way i get almost 180 degree of coverage from directional high gain antennas, whereas with crossfire you can either go for the same gain, losing beam width, or having the same beam width but less gain, i wish there would be a firmware for crossfire modules to get diversity + "signal fusion" or whatever they call it. That way we could have 1 module with patch antennas and 1 module with omnis. Would be awesome. Also i had the HDO's on my nose at the same time with my EV200Ds and in my opinion EV200D give a way better image than HDOs. And i understand that this not everyones opinion. My recommendation for everyone is take the goggles that are most pleasing to your eyes. Everyone has a different perception on how they like to see a FPV picture so before you buy, go to a meetup where ppl fly and ask if you can take a look inside the goggles.

I know about the other $300 goggles but I'm still tempted to get the ev200d for the eachine dvr. Not totally necessary but good for flying whoops and toothpicks where it's a little on the small side for a split camera. Then again I might just build a 3" with a tarsier. Not sure.

HI. i have the ev200ds and also dominator v3 using rapidfire, tried the rapidfire in the ev200d and all i get is a very faint picture sometimes rolling? put the rapidfire in the dominators to check and it works fine? the eachine modules which come with the goggles work and also a cheap pro58 receiver works with the ev200d, any ideas how to address the rapidfire problem would be welcome. Ev200d is good for 4:3 but in 16:9 the screen sides are not visible. Fitment is good for someone with a big head. The fan is loud and it gets hot.

Dude the sides are visible even with a thick faceplate instead , the thin one sucks. the issue is that it gets blurry but you CAN see the sides... at least most of us do.

Hi Justin, Even though this is a good review I have to put in my input on these goggles...I have these pair and not once but twice the dual modules have failed and in full flight!! Yes the module scan be exchanged with an after market but only one brand you mentioned and can only have ONE dual module on the right side and this comes from the manufacture, Eachine! With this, hope you guys have better luck than I did with these goggles.

I've had a pair for one summer. First goggles for me, so I cant really compare to others. I'm having a bit hard time to get both screens fully focused. Everything is totally flyable and the center of the picture is good, but the little texts (like the battery indicator) around the edges of the screen are not readable or I have to really squint my eyes and focus on them. I guess it's just that my face isn't completely compatible how the lenses are setup. But for the price! I can't really complain.

@@marazo Maybe you do need glasses. Get an eye check-they are free in most optic sellers. I also belived I dont need glasses until I went there. I have 0.75 diopters on one eye ans 0.25 on the other one. I never tried goggles yet but I do see a difference when using the computer.

Can somebody explain to me how to record with DVR? Its not working for me. I put the microSD card in the googles, power them on, then press around 10 sec to get into the REC Menu and then i press DVR button for 1 second and after my flight i also press the DVR button to stop the recording. But then there is no recording showing when i want to watch it on the googles. Even on my pc it says the microSD card is empty? Any tips or did I do something wrong?

No, you can only have quadversity with the packaged modules. Otherwise you can use third party modules but only on the left side and none on the right side. I've had no issues with the stock model and fly with them all the time. I have the TrueRC antennas with mine.

As per EV200D spec input DC voltage is 2S-3S. If you put 4S or 5S it might burn up ur goggles

I think people bash on Eachine quite a bit. But many of the "new reviewers" don't realize eachine has made some solid DVR's for about 5 years. They've been a budget alternative for a long time now. They've skinned a few chickens in this hobby.

My DVR in the EV200d is shit as hell Audio is not in sync, very bad handling bad signal. Have the update on them But other then this, yes good goggle. But no DVR autostart, slow reaction to buttons, doesnt keep settings like OSD off. You usually need half the day keeping buttons pressed to change settings

yes good quality eachine ev2ood, but they have an unforgivable failure, small insects enter inside the lenses and to remove them it is a very difficult task you have to disassemble the interior mirror and 2 tempered crystals finisimos less than 1mm and as you touch with your fingers since they are no longer I leave the factory I never pass on the 2 screens and dust inside. My God, I took out a handful. That is not right.
