I have the EV200D and I am very happy with them, but I would have bought these if they were out, when I shopped for fpv goggles. Amazing that even eachine can ship their goggles with a decent wide head strap but Fatshark still come with a thin strap and we have spend another $30 to get a better one. Nice review thanks.

I was literally waiting for your review of these goggles. As always - good job! For me there is only one big issue that totally knock out these goggles ( and the Fatshark HDO 2 as well): Because of my strong astigmatism I have to use prescription lenses from Fischer Optics or RhoLens. The built in diopter is a great option and is probably able to solve the most common vision problems - but unfortunately you can´t use prescription lenses anymore for the EV300o and the Fatshark HDO 2 as well... I would like to point out this problem to the reviewers with a big community - perhaps the companies will listen, if you talk about this problem. I think the solution for this problem might be quiet simple - but the manufacturers just were not aware of this problem. Waiting for your next reviews to come!

I own the Skyzone 03o oled goggles with the Fatshark module bay adapter running TBS Fusion. These EV300's are basically a Skyzone 03o with build-in Module bay adapters and new eye focus mechanism. Skyzone does a great job building goggles. I have never had any issues with my 03o'S and hopefully these are a preview of a new model coming from Skyzone. I switched from HDO's to the 03o's and I'll never go back top Fatshark. In my opinion, these goggles are superior to Fatshark in almost every way. As far as people saying bad things about Skyzone Service, They respond very quickly to emails and are very proactive. I have never had hardware problems, just had some questions about firmware. I think this is modern product with modern electronics instead of FatSharks Retro goggles with vintage cobbled together electronics. Eachine did themselves a huge favor by re-branding and selling these Skyzones as EV300's. Very Very High grade Product. Again, no disrespect to Fatshark or their products, I just prefer Skyzone. Better fit, better fan, better screens, better DVR, better electronics, modern 2020 menu system with tons of options for screen control and adjustment tuning. A modern 2020 product IMO.

What wold you buy in my shoes, especially considering fatsharks are only £388 on banggood as I write this. Obviously need the module on top of that price

Couldn't justify the cost just to fly around indoors. Outside FPV flying is not allowed in Australia unless you are a member of the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA). Which allows you to fly at one of their flying fields. Other wise you must have a remotely piloted aircraft operator's certificate (ReOC), which is more for companies then recreational flying. Then apply to CASA for permission for Extended visual line-of-sight (EVLOS) , or Beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS). You can recreationally fly over your own land, probably not your house in suburbia. FPV flying is allowed inside. 😥

FPV has always been technically illegal in Australia. By definition, the DJI users are also breaking the law by using a screen to fly. If you fly places where there aren't many people and fly safely you won't have an issue. It only becomes an issue if someone complains to CASA and even then they can only prosecute you if they have sufficient evidence. The burden of proof is on them and if you don't admit to flying, there is little to no way for them to prove it. Basically, keep your nose clean and try not to annoy people and you will not be fined. If CASA really wanted to push the issue they need to ban the sale of all DJI drones, as they all need to be flown with a screen and which therefore is not 100$ VLOS. In 2018 a guy emailed CASA about flying a mobula 7 in his house. They said it would be illegal because the use of FPV without a spotter etc etc is illegal. They had no idea what they were talking about. It's a shame that a couple of years later and we're pretty much in the same position.

Regardless of having a spotter or not. Even if you are flying FPV outside safely you're still breaking the law, unless you have CASA's permission. I understand what your saying and I agree with Bruce Simpson's (Xjet) two rule system. I disagree with these rules (CASA), and think you should be allowed to fly FPV in a safe manner. So as I said some people choose to ignore the rules, but must be prepared to pay the consequences. Someone using a mobile phone to take a picture of the operator and the drone, I would suggest would be sufficient evidence for prosecution.

I've been seeing conflicting recommendations on these goggles. If you do a follow up video, can you keep an eye out for increased video delay (i heard its worse with pal or ntsc but i forget which), lens housing actually obscuring the screen, and the power usage thing. I really can't tell how impactful those things are as a regular end user. I'm not doing much high-stakes racing, so maybe the double fpv latency doesn't matter for me? and it has a higher power draw, but aren't 18650s insanely power dense, it doesn't seem like they'll die mid flight or anything unless you forget to charge them when you get in. worst case scenario of it being super delayed, a massive power drain, and inconsistent fit&finish; would you say it's still an upgrade from the ev200d? But yeah, I know you said you didn't notice anything major in the review but I'm definately interested if you did a follow up video after a bit of casual use

You're probably speaking about Eachine EV300D, those had that issue with both PAL/NTSC then with NTSC only.

I pre-ordered my EV100 because they were the only binocular goggles with focus, they still work. I also need 2.5x to 3x reading glasses. Can't risk the money on Fat Shark and not be able to see the screens, they only make minus diopters, what if you need plus correction?

You mention the focus. I also need reading glasses. I have the Eachine 300D goggles now, love them, and may upgrade to these for the OLED screens. But on my goggles now, I am out at +2.5 in the adjustment and am concerned that these may not adjust far enough. Can you allay that concern?

Love your videos. A question on the focal range of these goggles. At 61 years old I wear glasses and need plus diopters. The manual states the focal range as 0 to -6. From your experience does the focal range extend to positive diopters (magnification) or truly stops at zero and has only negative diopter range?? Thanks.

Not sure how they are measuring it as I need +1.25 for reading and I can get the focus spot on and there is more adjustment.

So I'm curious how the fit compares to other goggles. I have a set of EV800D's and have wanted to upgrade. I'm most interested in a quadversity setup which limits me to few goggles. EV200's were literally unusable because of the fit on my nose. How do these compare? The nose accomodations looks reasonable on these but I'd love the opinion of someone who has worn both.

Best fit for eachine I've tried. The two faceplate and decent nose relief with pad choices make for a wide range of fits supported.

For me i think the market analogue at this price range is dead. Personally if i were going to spend this much on analogue, i just spend the extra and get the DJI digital system.

Fly with others though and expect problems...The fact that it's incompatible makes it dangerous as it can squelch an analog video pretty thoroughly and cause that analog quad to drop from the sky because the pilot disarmed due to video loss....caveat emptor.

That last bit about serviceability is the reason I will stay with Fatshark. Eachines service is clown shoes, everyone knows it. They need that first, before the goggles, but they figure they will sell enough that the failure rate is worth it. And they will fail, their quality control is also clown shoes. Good review, but it's too much of a risk to suggest to anyone.

WOW $429.00 I would rather buy the fat sharks, DJI, or skyzones for the same price and we all know the internal components will be way better made and come with warranties vs the eachine in my opinion thanks for the review though I use the recons and love them one day I may consider upgrading but that's an awful lot of money for just the googles I dont see the difference in $100 googles vs $429 googles but then again it's just my opinion someone out there may love these
