Than in January it'll be fun again because of toty. If you want a fun experience on this game what i try to do is play every mode. The problem is the auto matic defending , and the lack of 1 v1 situations. As soon as you get the ball you got 2-3 ai pressing controlled players closing you down and defending perfectly, that you can only play backwards. This slows game down alot

Another issue is ball hogging. You can't press certain players that just spam L1 mid game. They will just switch sides and then continue the same, walking towards their own goal, and for some reason you can't second man press them in time or manually flick either. If you do a team press with worse players than the icon hoarders, they just cut through your team with one pass.

Im playing pro club and kickoff for casual for now. I quit ultimate team last week. I had it with the pay to win shit! People do the same thing every match and have same player cards. Playing against people using hacks like ultimate or legendary bots is frustrating. The worst gameplay to play is facing a lag switch cheater. Everyone is good in this game because of the hacks on cross play on pc. Take off the cross play and just be console vs console might be better just maybe… People do the same thing like run down the 6yd, cut inside and score and there is empty space and so much gap. Im just playing for casual fun now. Im done facing idiot sweats that message me after every match if they beat me because of tap ins and calling me the n word and stuff or I suck or get gud with improper spelling which makes them even stupider. Nick, I’ve been playing fifa religiously since Fifa 12. I buy it every year, I put tons of time and effort into my account. I’ve been watching almost every fifa content creator since y’all came about. I’ve always been all about fifa and all for it every year, gaming wise. I pre ordered EA FC the day we could pre order it and I was very hyped for something new and exciting, I was genuinely looking forward to a breath of fresh air but still having that fifa aura. I was so disappointed with this game , wether it be gameplay or menus or content. Whenever fifa got bad, I always still played through it because of the love I’ve always had for the game. I ended up deleting the game. I tossed $80 down the drain. It’s been a few weeks now and I will tell you now I am so happy I did it. All my focus gaming wise at the moment is MW3. It just feels so good to be away from that game and enjoy something else for once. I don’t know if I will return to EA FC to be honest with you.

I think a lot of it is defensive width. If you look in a 442 your opposite side RM/LM plays basically as another CM and then your back 4 sits inside the goalposts all the time so it makes impossible to go into the middle and you have to play down the wings

doing an introspection, this is the first FIFA since I've started in 2013 in which it's November and I really don't want to play anymore. I have LeBlanc, Vidic, Schmeichel, Salah Bell and Son POTM, Rooney, Modric RTTK, Llorente 87... seems like an absolute killer team, but every fcking game I conceed a goal from the fcking sides after several fcking passes from one side to another, or I make a ridiculous penalty with Blacn / Vidic without even trying. In other years, I would be very happy and motivated with this team but right now I cannot stand this anymore. It is boring, repetitive, and yesterday I only opened the game, did a stupid SBC and logged out. Really depressing tbh.

I think what would would make a massive difference to this games enjoyment is the following: 1. Fix 71 depth (its basically constant pressure without the drawbacks) 2. Change the linearity of the defensive stats so that attackers have way less ability to tackle effectively because at the moment Griezmann and Salah can win the ball as easily as cb's. 3. Reduce the chances of non controlled players making tackles for you (force manual defending) 4. Stop automatic drop back (all 8/9 of your defense and midfielders sitting in the box as soon as you lose the ball). Imo just those changes would DRAMATICALLY improve the gameplay and make it so much more enjoyable while also increasing the skill gap.

I'm the same! I stopped playing FUT regularly ever since they scrapped Div 10 to 1 and started bringing in Fut Champs.... of which I've only played 3 Fut Champs ever. Now I play max 3-7 Rivals games per week or two, and a couple chilled Squad Battles as I listen to a podcast. The rest is Career Mode or ProClubs. Been pretty lucky with packs too (untradeable Gerd Muller, IF Doku, and Evo'd Depay & Hermoso so I kinda just play it relaxing with them players) Still miss the days of TOTW being the only real special cards 😂

It’s beyond bad, you can even tell with the content creators everybody is checked out. There is no “aura” around the game anymore. Champs is the only kinda playable mode, rivals is torture and friendlies is sbmm prison with nerfed rewards from past games. The latest cup they released must be a practical joke the rewards wouldn’t be good enough for the first week of the game, laughable. I’m even growing tired of squad battles quickly, they made matches shorter but turned up the difficulty and sweatiness 3x. At this point I haven’t even touched on the meta, the 71 press, the cutbacks or the embarrassingly terrible new gen engine. 0/10 Tom Caleffi you are the weakest link goodbye!

I actually love defending in FIFA (theoretically). I'm quite a patient player, I stand off attackers, jockey and position for the right tackle, and some of the most fun I've had online is against better players with better (bought and paid for) squads, just frustrating them and snatching little victories. However, the gameplay on FIFA/EAFC has been increasingly counter-intuitive for years. Defending feels like your constantly pulling a rope against the AI of your own team, like your own players are being sucked into black holes and you're constantly having to switch and drag them back. In the 5-10 second build up, you do all this work to close with the third man, track a run from deep, get a man level with an obvious through ball option... and then they do one little meta thing, like a cut back, or reverse dribbling, and every little adjustment you made is completely undone, every man drops out of his preferred space, and suddenly their striker is onside, 1v1 inside the box, and you have no time to drag your defender back into line, or across the block. It happens time and time again.

I played FUT 12-16 and it's always been so much fun. YES there always was a META and there was annoying mechanics. I skipped FUT 17-19 so I had my first experience of FUT Champs, Rivals, SBCs (basically the whole game mode redesign since FUT 17). I've always been a very good player (always Division 1 in Seasons back then, 16 wins minimum in FUT Champs). Safe to say I was shocked when I returned for FUT 20 of the changes in gameplay and how the average player played against me. We went from an offensive-minded meta gameplay in FUT 12-16 with variable styles being played (crossing, quick passing through the middle, skill moves or a beautiful mix of all that) to a defensive-minded sweat fest in FUT 20 and onwards that rewarded absolute and shameless mechanic abusing to counter that. F.e. remember FIFA 20 drag backs like hell to counter 4231 drop back, 1 depth/width meta and after that it went to basically runing down the line cut backs since then (I liked FIFA 21 the best from the last few since it was more offensively minded than the rest but still far away from good). I played the FC Pro Cup today and it was an 8 match bloodbath of my opponents shamelessly abusing 4 things: 71+ depth, Finesse+, cut backs and whipped cross+ with the new Bacha card. I'm in Div1 Rivals and since SBMM is a thing in Friendlies (just let that sink in SBMM in Freindlies lmao) I'm waware of what I'm going up against. Sweats that don't care about playing football that are just fine with abusing every flawed mechnanic to win in this game. Can you blame them? Yes and No i guess, in the top divisions its sad´ly just the name of the game for like 95% of the players. You stand at kick off and see the attack of Griezmann, Son, Salah and Dalglish and you already know you will concede at least 1 or 2 Finesse+ from 30 meters out. Can't really prevent it against top level players. Pull a defender out of position to prevent the Finesse+ and he will pass it in the space behind, cutback and score. Its really sad what happende to this game in the last 4 years when you are a veteran of FIFA... everyone plays the same, with the same players. Playstyled may be a good idea but holy crap there are some playstyles that are just awfully OP and others that just dont make any sense. Examples: Why do I need Anticipate+ to constantly get the ball after a I made a successful tackle? Shouldn't this be rather the norm in after most tackles? Finesse+ is so broken... Opponents could run 2v2 at my goal and would prefer the Finesse+ with Son from 30m out because it has a better chance to go in. Whipped Cross+ OMG this Bacha SBC might change the meta slightly because the crosses honestly feel like you are playing FIFA street combined with ever crossing assistance turned on its laughable. They really need to fasten up the game again, make the defensive AI not sit back deep automatically in 'halfcourt offense'. Find a solution to the 71+ depth/pressure either by buffing the movement and ball playing abilities of offensive AI when under pressure or nerf the pressure (increasing the stamina drain for pressing is only a hot fix, not a general one). Adjust the balance of some of the playstyle+. Will all this happen in EAFC 24? No. It's EA they will bring some new store content

i cant even count the amount of times that ive been 2-0 up the second half starts and the other team literally scores 3-4 goals in a row all of their players get through passes and everything goes in . This game is the least skill based game of fifas ive ever played. Its the sweatiest game ive ever played and u literally have to be the most toxic player to win . This is my favorite game ever and eafc is most bs game ever. ive played fifa since 04-05 and ive never felt like this for any fifa. I used to beat players with twice a better team than mines with silver players in my squad like sharaawy . The thing that pisses me off the most is that no one i am playing against wants to think about what they are doing. the only thing they are thinking about is running down the line. as soon as they are in the right spot they are just either blindly passing or crossing it into the middle hoping it gets to any of their players. 90% of the time that shit works because the passes get corrected from the game. every single player could be marked and the pass still gets through.

Bc of the 71 depth bs I mainly play on old gen. But I feel like the defensive AI is weaker on old gen, bc my defenders are out of position more often. Really frustrating is how auto switching in defense incl. corners screw you over. And the game keeps getting sweatier and sweatier especially WL finals. No matter how bad the record in the second half (8-6, 10-7, 10-9), I'm often matched against div. 1 or elite players.
