It’s pretty cool how slightly different Tyson was from Tocantins/HvV to BvW/Winners at War. From being a proud and open villain who laughed at others for crying, to being an emotionally open husband and father. The Shii Ann vote is critically underrated. Shii Ann had a read on the game. She knew Amber was using Rob as shield. She knew players like Alicia, Tom and Lex were devastatingly hurt by Rob’s gameplay. Shii Ann knew that Amber was an obstacle for everyone else still in the game. Rob would NEVER turn on her. Amber still in the game roadblocked everyones chances. Shii Ann knew.

Amber wasn't using Rob as a shield. She just genuinely loved him. And if she was using Rob as a shield it obviously wasn't working too well since Jenna Lewis said herself that if she had won the final challenge she would've voted out Amber and took Rob to the final 2 with her.

Correct. I am not an Amber fan but her win is underrated. She was the invisible winner behind all of the chaos. They say buT rOb pLAYeD sUcH a gOoD gAmE! but he was really the OG Russell Hantz. Her answers at the Final Tribal Council are all sound, logical, and human. People were blinded by the flashiness of Rob because he had more star power. But Shii Ann knew that Amber was the under-the-radar player who was quietly and masterfully inching to the million dollars.

Not only does it reinforce the idea that empathy, and active listening (associated with femininity) are inferior to a masculine approach, but it also suggests that empathizing with others and coming to a solution or course of action are mutually exclusive!
