Cold temperatures finally made it to Virginia this past January, which made for the perfect opportunity to jump shoot ducks out of our kayaks on small flowing creeks. We were covered up in geese from the start of the float, but unfortunately goose season was closed in this part of the state. Eventually we started to see more wood ducks and were able to get some jump shots on them, although our shooting was pretty poor to start the morning. We kept running into geese throughout the float and even saw a bald eagle chasing one that had an injured leg which was a first for both of us. Towards the end of the float we got a couple better shooting opportunities and were able to get a few birds down even though we were still a little slow on the guns. Hope you enjoy!
