Love Dave! First met him in 1987 in SF with Texorcist! Thankfully, he finally bought a house for respite from "people from Germany" cuz Dave is super laid back/kind BUT, at Rancho he is WORKING or, in downtime at a communal lunch or a porch session. I was in JT and, was looking for Hutch and, went to Rancho. Dave invited my gf and I for supper and, evening recording...then PJ Harvey walked by...and, I bailed...I never get "stagefright" and, have played for decades...I lost it...lol Never did find Hutch (old Vancouver friend)

Love footage of Rancho de la Luna, thanks for sharing! Seems like the most laid back, amazing atmosphere to record in

Dave, Bormann here. Love this I can remember coming over to your pad above the Coconut Teaser and you telling me you were going to by a motel in Joshua Tree and turn it into a studio! Man alive, if'n ya didn't do just that! Then in 92, Suzi & I were in Joshua Tree at an Internet cafe/bar and you offered to sell it to me "lock stock & Belgian ales" for 5 grand. You rock! Saw you and Eagles playing some psych fest thing like 4 years Ago! Tremendous man! You inspire me still after what 35 years! Thank you!

That was just sick! I had the honor of playing a show at SOMA in San Diego back in the day with Kyuss and Ween. My band had no food and Josh and the rest of the guys were super cool and told us to chow down on their spread. lol. If I keep by EQD pedals like I have been, my drawer will look like that dream drawer. Rock on peeps!

If i had to pick between Rancho de La Luna or Disney World or the Pyramids from Egypt or something like that I'd chose Rancho de La Luna every single time.

Most def. Rancho de la Luna is basically like Disney World and the pyramids combined!

I kinda hope they don’t. Josh isn’t as connected with the group of freaks and musical outliers that he once was. I’m afraid it would turn into collaborations with Mark Ronson and overtly pop-style artists and would have too much sheen. What made them so special was the experimental nature of the music.

Well dream on, because even at the beginning he more or less states, "we hate tourists." Unless of course you have lots of money, then um yeah, they like "tourists".
@stnepiper30626 жыл бұрын
Jake Bond I think he doesn't hate tourists, he just hates morons. That's normal. It's his private property. Want to see - contact, pay and then you can have a tour. Or not. But if it works that way, that's pretty sweet in my opinion. And absolutely normal again. I'm from Russia too btw if someone interested. And i believe no one interested. :)
