Bobb always seemed like a nice guy, but this video confirmed it. The fact that he is friends with Nels Cline just brings his cool factor up 100%. Thanks Earthquaker for getting such great videos.

So inspirational! When he demoed that weird vision-based record-playing-synth that was the trippiest. I thought we had lost time-space for a while and I didn't know how long he had been there and all of a sudden he just moves on to new gear at an appropriate transition on an impossibly beyond fathomable instrument.

I was super happy to see that Acoustic Control 150 get some love! I have one too and everyone that I’ve ever talked to about it turns their nose up at it thinking it’s a “Guitar Center” amp. I have a 450 as well and love both of them dearly!

Bobb is a solid dude. I messaged him on Instagram about the gear he and Beth used on “Crazy For You” all those years ago - I had just gotten it on vinyl and became obsessed with it again...about 45 minutes late he sends a thank you and pictures of the gear along with a iPhone note of the amps and guitars. Dudes cool. I’m sure if I would have asked Beth the same thing she would have been like 🤷♂️

One reason I really, really envy American musicians apart from the easy access to readily available awesome gear they have is that they don't have much dust in the air over there. Seriously, this will sound stupid to a lot of you, but here in India, it's so hot, humid and dusty that every time I have to play the guitar, I have to take out my guitar from a cover (the strings will rust otherwise) and I cannot leave my pedals out in the open because the knobs will get crusty as fuck. It's damn annoying looking at people with all their gear out in the open always on KZbin when i have to dust my house twice everyday!

Awesome. This kind of sound exploration and experimentation is right up my alley. Cool to see the different toys these folks have/use that you wouldn't expect (or maybe haven't even seen before). I use a lot of weird stuff too, but watching this series has given me quite a few ideas as well - not to copy techniques, but certain ways different tech can be modified and utilized. Good stuff. Great vid as with the rest.

Pretty sure Joe Gore used one of those Baldwin amps with Tom Waits and PJ Harvey. The reverb and trem are great. Where I used to work, we briefly had an Oliver unit that was basically the rotating top horn of a Leslie in a box on its own. Leslie sounds but weighed like 20 pounds. I was sad to see it go! Can't keep em all though.
