Great job displaying the sky isnt falling! There are some real issues with the passing game though & I think it’s important to acknowledge them as reality. Fran Duffy did a great job displaying some of them with receipts. Jalen holds onto the ball too much with BAD results when he does. A lot of great qbs were on the list of holding the ball for a long time (Lamar, allen, mahomes etc) but the results were night & day when holding over 4 seconds.

They have for the past 6 games..our defense locked them down in crunch time and our offense clutched up halfway through. A lot to learn? Yeah. A lot to clean up? DEFINETELY. ....but either way. I like that J.Hurts isn't turning the ball over. When he throws, it's around 8 yards or more, and he's competing passes, at a great average. I'll take these " Game Manager " stats every day, because SB 26 will run you down, then Kenny G will put up good numbers too. ( not like Detroit, but K.G. with more carries, is a legit back too. He's so under rated)

My take with Hurts is that he just makes some silly boneheaded mistakes sometimes. Not frequently, but sometimes. And sometimes, those instances are critical times in the game. You do not take a delay of game penalty, nor do you slide down 8 yards behind the LOS taking us out of FG range, you throw the ball away. This brings me to my main concern with this team. Jake Elliot. Mr. automatic clutch man has turned into an absolute terrifying nightmare on FGs over 50 yards. He hasn't made ONE yet. That's extremely concerning to me, more so than even Hurts's bonehead mistakes sometimes.

This is the things hurts is not a game manager by nature. Gm are typically accurate, scheme conforming, good at dinking and dunking all game, and get rid of the ball at a average to above average pace. Hurts only theirs outside the number which mean the ball travels farther, he holds it forever, does not exactly play within the scheme unless it’s an rpo. He is a playmaker being asked to be very careful with the ball and I believe he is clearly trying to prevent negative plays ie turnovers and in the process limiting his ability to make the plays he should be.

It’s not just one game man it’s been consistent for over a year and a half at this point and he just hasn’t gotten any better. Jalen is surrounded by more pro bowlers than any other qb. They should be blowing teams out especially with how good the defense has been but they’re all way too close in the 4th quarter they can’t keep playing with fire and relying on Barkley to go off at the end of the game eventually it will burn them.

He hasn't gotten better in a year and a half (despite me showing he's been more efficient this year than any year in his career), yet he's beaten Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow. Who else does he need to beat to prove it to you? The Ravens lost to the Raiders. Jared Goff threw 5 picks in a game. The Bills just lost to a Rams team we smoked with Jalen being very efficient. He's also had all of his Pro Bowlers in and out of the lineup this year and they keep winning. Do we have to go 17-0 before people stop freaking out?

It doesn’t seem to be a coincidence that, out of nowhere, pundits put out the idea that the NFL is a suddenly “passing league”. And, as fate would have it, fantasy football players would roster their fantasy teams with the most statistically proficient QBs… regardless of how good or bad their respective real NFL teams were at the most important stat - the W-L column. What ff player hasn’t faced the problem where they’re upset that their favorite pro team lost, but they started that team’s QB who threw for 300+ yards in a losing effort (Josh Allen vs the Rams, anyone?) and thought, Oh well, at least my fantasy team won…”? It’s kinda crazy if you think about it! So while fantasy football drove more casual fans into a broader interest in the game the fundamental, and by far the most important, fact of the game was brushed aside. Before fantasy football, all fans cared about or wanted from the QBs was to win games, no matter what. And the best teams always were always measured by a strong run game and elite defenses (as in the old saying, “Defense wins championships”). That’s all but gone now and we’re left with stat nerds and Negative Nancies (some of the more vocal Philadelphia media and sycophantic fans) dictating what’s “important” to winning football.

There was also several things I mentioned that didn't work out in this game. Jalen not pulling the trigger, protection breaking down other times, tipped passes and good plays by the defense, AJ slipping on an RPO, Wilson falling on the clear out route. Not every game is going to be perfect. But we're taking this game and acting like it's been bad the whole season. In reality we've been running the ball so much and been up in a lot of games, if you look at raw totals then it appears they're struggling. In reality, like I mentioned with Jalen's stats, on a per throw basis, Jalen is having his most efficient season. AJ is averaging more yards per Reception than any point in his Eagles career. For some reason we're acting like this one game is representative of the whole season.

Many Philly fans overreact but most are wicked smart and honest about the Eagles. Last year most knew it would fall apart eventually, it was on record in national sports shows how fans felt doubtful at 8-0. We have seen enough to know that Hurts issues in the first four games remain though they are covered up by the team and schedule. If he does not dramatically improve there will be no SB for them this year. I would feel better with a Hurts 450 pass yard loss. Hurts had 83 net passing yards versus the Panthers subtracting his yards lost in sacks.
