Fantastic build. I’m just about to start this kit, so this is incredibly useful. I’m a bit intimidated to light it though…maybe on the next one! I’m thinking of having the canopy open and slotting in a modern jet ejector seat with straps. Do you think that would work. I realize I might have to drop the floor….

Thanks! You could always just do engine lighting...it's fairly easy to do on this model and will give it a sense of life. An ejector seat would be cool but you are probably looking at a lot of modifications that might not be seen very much.

Just found your channel, waiting (and waiting) for paints to arrive for another build....lockdown sadness, so I've decided to pull out the MK 1 Viper from my stash to have a go at....enjoyed the vid and like your approach...so subbed, I'll check out some more vids...cheers👍

Fantastic job! Nicely weathered. When I built the Deagostini Millennium Falcon (a two year monthly subscription parts build) I watched as the Deagostini site forum members build progress photos, mostly about their weathering efforts, sometimes got out of hand as 'weathering one-upmanship' seemed to take over, resulting in some truly awful looking Falcons!

Thanks. I get mine on eBay. I like the prewired LEDs. They have a resister already attached so they can be hooked up directly to a battery. There are lots of sizes 3mm and 5mm are very common. A 9v battery usually powers them easily.

Is the liquid shoe polish diluted? How many coats of the satin finish do you have to apply before applying the shoe polish?

I usually put it straight on but it can be diluted with water. I usually do one coat of the satin. Thanks for viewing!

Another question, the satin coat that you apply before using the shoe polish, would that be equivalent to a gloss finish or a semi gloss?

It's more like a semi gloss.

Model looks great. As for the pilot...u mentioned accuracy. If u look at the show ur pants appear to be the right color...but the jacket is actually a slightly lighter brown....and the boots are not black...but brown.

I believe the lighting on set made the Sidi boots appear black on film. There was some pretty odd lighting on that show.

Kind of resembles late 50's USAF jets, block like cockpit, and Sabre nose..But a mostly space faring vehicle, it's probably all you need.

Ralph McQuarrie drew the concept pictures for the ship, perhaps that's where he got his inspiration.
