As a chap in my forties, who always searches for great music, no matter what era, this tune is an absolute belter. The guitar riff is one of the best I've ever heard; this band is one of the best I've heard in recent times. Comforting to know decent music will always exist, in spite of the dreadful chart rubbish nowadays.

While no one or artist should confine themselves to the label(s) attributed to them they are helpful in finding more content or people in a similar tone/feeling. And this is definitely post-punk with sound quite akin to Killing Joke, XTC, Joy Division and the like. Originality is a concept of idealists, the best is the most intriguing and intelligent hybrid of concepts and ideas.

I've always found the term post-punk unrepresentative of the genre. This kind of music bleeds into something more akin to really early indie. I always thought of Television as more like one of the first indie bands rather than a seminal post-punk band. Anyhoo, I digress, Eagulls have nailed. Gonna get stuck into them now big time! Gonna see them at Longtitude too. Gonna be SAAAAAVAAGE!

Sounds like a Joy Division cover band. Retro must be retrograding to late 70s very early 80s atm. Who knows how many loops these kids will go in till they get something original. Just wait 3 years something else that already happened will happen again and try to claim freshness.

People show their uneducated state by comparing any of this sound to Joy Division. The Cure I get and totally see but JD? Really? Where are the dark deep vocals? distorted guitars? Loud chorusy basslines? none. "Oh its post-punk? SOUNDS LIKE JOYDIVISION". If anything their instrumentation sounds like Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.
