Well, the western side of Euston beyond the very first departure platform had been intended for the GWR's London terminus. The terms of the lease were too resrrictive for the GW management to accept.

I sadly failed this.. got up at 5 this morning to do this! Was meant to get the 0653 service out of Ealing Broadway to Reading (Elizabeth Line) but uhm.. yeah, the overnight works overran.. and so all services were cancelled. From there i would've got the 0755 out of Reading to Euston.. Sadly that didn't happen! However, when i arrived at Ealing. I got chatting to the lovely driver (of this train) and he said oh yeah i'll be taking over to Euston and it will be stopping. So i got excited and thought ok cool its stopping. I then realised. Oh.. no wonder its not on the timetable as a scheduled stop! It stopped at the far end of the station so no one could get on. I was so annoyed and upset! If all going well and if i'd of made it on at Ealing, I would've been on your train! I saw it though. I hope you had a nice experience! Gutted i couldn't do this! Fab vid btw! Hope you enjoyed my little disastrous story lmao

Normally they would only stop at Ealing to let passengers off only so that’s probably why
