The amusing thing is that Russia and China are not anti west, but they are countries that make their own choices and need independence. Sadly to be a western country you need to get permission or ask the views of the United States of American before you can say where you stand. Russia and China are not anti west, they both had a lot of trade and ties with the west. The west pushed Russia away and cut ties and ironically Russia has a growing economy because of this. The west was slowing Russia down so Russia benefited from the separation. Is that because the west is all about restrictions and suffocation? I can't say, but Russia is growing and China is growing and India is growing... as the west tries to impose sanctions and limit their growth and development.

I am not an Indian, but yes, India can and should do whatever she deems to fit her national interests. As a country of enormous size, population and economy, India fully realizes her gravitas and utilizes it fully. As for a shining example of self-serving unilateral decision making, one needs to look no further than the US.

There is a beautiful line in the Gospel of Mark, where Jesus says to his apostles, "For whoever is NOT against us, is for us" I think India, on a global stage, espouses exactly this attitude. If America and Europe aren't against India, India continues to treat them as allies. But since they also are obviously ok with funding Pakistan, it's wary of them. But it doesn't mean it treats them as enemies. Since Russia has been open about its support for India and has actively defended India on the global stage, India sees it as more than an ally, a friend really. This doesn't mean India supports everything it does. It merely means, in the context of its relations with Russia concerning its own interests, India is an ally. Same with America and the West. Basically, India is friends with everyone, unless they are specifically against India.

Many in the US + the West forgot that India is a non-align country. For India, the concept of non-alignment began as a policy of non-participation in the military affairs of a bipolar world and in the context of colonialism aimed towards optimum involvement through multi-polar participation towards peace and security. The founders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) were Jawaharlal Nehru of India, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Nasser of Egypt, Sukarno of Indonesia and Tito of Yugoslavia. The NAM consists of 120 countries, 17 states as observers, and 10 observe organisations.

Wow, Dr Jaishankar is unequivocally a head and shoulder above Blinken and Baerbock, when it comes to both intellect and narration. I still find it odd that the U.S. and Germany fought two world wars against one another near on 23 year period and yet the U.S. with it's now loyal minion Germany, has the audacity to challenge and criticise India for it's sustained relationship with Russia/Soviet Union, who supported it through conflict with Pakistan. This, at a time when Pakistan was a U.S. backed military regime, while India was a fledgling young democracy. The hypocrisy of the U.S. is nothing short of bewildering!

While Blinken and Baerbock waffles and talk in clichés and anachronistic tropes, in a failed attempt to conserve the neocolonialist world order, Jaishankar just spells out, very plainly and easy to understand, what is reasonable seen from Indias's perspective. India is still directed by the America and Westen Europea and its leaders seem to be completely content that their country to be occupied and used of profit, privilege and power. India is supposedly independent since 1947, that may be stated as fact, but the realities are directly opposite. For, Indian leaders are not able to see their plight and in fact, they seem rather pleased with their servitude to London and Washington. When will India become an independent nation? The world is waiting for this ancient civilization to resume its rightful place.
