My sister and her partner are away on vacation so we signed up to housesit AND puppy sit while they're gone! While there are many perks to house life there are many reasons we can't wait to get back to living in a van! It is interesting indeed - We have experienced the weirdness too. When we lived in our car in NZ, we also housesat on and off, and we found that for the first few days the change of scenery and amenities was great but by the end, our sleep always got skewed and we ended up dreaming of sleeping in our car. :D

I am originally from Atlanta. Also has 16 lanes (if not more). Same thing with Atlanta traffic, hit the road super early morning or by 2:30 pm otherwise, traffic headache. (I haven’t lived there in 15 years but I’m sure their traffic is still problematic. I also worked with an LA transplant to Atlanta. She said ATL traffic was worse than LA.

You had suggested to write to you and recommend a vid for the upcoming van gathering. My recommendation is the 3 or 4 vids when your engine was replaced in Mexico. I feel that the great parts of van life everyone dreams about and knows about however, it is when we are in the stressful times that we learn. With your vids of the engine replacement, it helps other van folks in figuring out what to do (ie: problem solve under stress). Bruce is adorable!! I have the feeling that you need a shorter dog than Bruce in the van if you want to have space in the bed ;-) I have 2 dogs, i think about them all day, and i hurry home to see them!

Vancouver traffic is pretty up there with T-Town. I just wanna gouge my eyes out with a spoon whenever I go into the city. 👎🏼
