You are a good teacher and show the various parts of making cattle feed. The corn harvest was interesting and it was fun watching the hammer mill operation. Your corn crib seems to have a lot of corn ready to be ground into feed. Thanks for a great video and blessing to all of you folks.

Good job, I ground my own feed several years ago. Would like to do it again. Roulding up all of the equipment would be a job.

I remember grinding earcorn for the cows and the steers a lot of shoveling in the corn crib but the cattle did well on it.

We will be lambing out 150 ewes. Expecting about 300 lambs. The breed is Rideau Arcott which is a prolific canadian breed. The similar americain breed would be polypay.

I agree with you on ear corn being the best feed. But in north Texas the price of corn is the same price as bag feed. Which is $24/cwt. Feed and grain dealers have tapped into the value stream and cornered the market on all animal feed.
@knappfarms
@knappfarms Жыл бұрын
I don’t think this would be efficient if we didn’t raise all our own corn to save a little money on it but we also get the fiber from the cob and filler so that helps with the price as well

Probably makes great tasting beef. We tried the grass fed and it didn’t taste right to us. Missing something and a little off taste but some people swear by it. Too each his own. I would much rather have beef raised the way you do it.

Mineral about 75 pounds for 5000 pound batch then 300 pounds of soybean meal for some extra protein 8 pounds of salt and 15 pounds of yeast extra so in all about 400 pounds of added stuff to 4600 pounds of ear corn
@knappfarms
