1 tip, if you already used to Spinfit and wanted to try Azla Xelastec, DO NOT PUSH YOUR IEM TOO DEEP. Azla Xelastec is designed to just somewhat 'hang' on your ear, contrary to Spinfit which could be pushed deeply inside

@@michaelp.3485 It's the most secure one for me, it's the one i use the most on my TWS when I jog, and yes they do fit on wide bore tips like Dusks, but for stiff eartips like AZLA you need to finesse it a bit. @@DCer0 If you noticed a few of the recent eartips from various manufacturers, many of them have adopted SpinFit's so-called "patented" design. I personally have tested over 200 types of eartips and have seen enough similarites in many of them to draw my conclusion. (Editor: Well, I guess I can't post the link to my eartips reviews here.)

We can enhance the performance of the original ear tips that come with the IEMs through a simple tweak, eliminating the need for expensive replacements. I utilized a small strip of Blu Tack, wrapping it around both bores/tubes of my IEMs behind the silicone ear tips' flaps. To ensure effectiveness, I straightened the flaps attached to the tubes before wrapping the Blu Tack strip and then covered the flaps back. This tweak imparted the IEM with a combined sonic character of both silicone tips and foam tips. The results were noticeable - passive noise isolation improved by nearly 70%, the bass and sub-bass became tighter and more controlled, the treble revealed more details, vocals gained a crisper quality, and the soundstage exhibited an extension. This tweak worked remarkably well for IEMs using only a single BA driver, such as FIIO FA1 and other budget IEMs like those from KZ, CCA, and TRN. You can experiment with different impacts by applying half or full-filled strips of Blu Tack on various shapes and sizes of ear tips' holes/bores. My favorite improvement is achieved by wrapping a half-filled Blu Tack on round-shaped and large hole/bore tips. Feel free to explore and innovate, as there's nothing to lose.

Just got the Spiral Dot ++ for my U12t. Tried a bunch of different ones back to back and these were my favs. They go on the U12t in a way that JVC never intended but 64Audio intended where the nozzle of the IEM goes right to the end of the tip. It's bypassing the structures inside the ear tip that give the Spiral Dots their name but it seals way better and is more comfortable than the stock 64Audio silicone tips. I had emailed 64Audio a few days ago because the stock tips slid right down where the nozzle was at the end of the tip and it didn't look right but they said that was intended to get the Tia drivers as far down the ears as possible so that the high frequencies are completely bypassing any effects that the tips would have.

Great review! I tried a lot of these tips. Stuck with a few of them for some time, too. But the ones that really worked for me were unbranded triple flange silicone tips I found on Amazon for my U12T set.
@jafizzle95 Жыл бұрын
I tried the triple flange MEE Audio tips for the U12t but the tips are too long and it sounded like listening to the IEMs down a hallway. But if you like it then pay me no mind. The tips I finally found that were perfect were the JVC Spiral Dots ++ because they allow the very end of the IEM nozzle to get flush with the end of the IEM tips, which is how 64Audio told me was the intended way. Based on what they said, it's to get the Tia drivers as far down the ear as possible with zero interference from the tip itself. It pretty much completely bypasses the "dots" that give the Spiral Dots their name but they were the only tips (that I had on hand) that allowed the IEM to slide down that far. Except obviously the stock tips but I am between sizes on the stock tips and the JVC have a slightly more rigid material that seals better.
@dizzycow3726 Жыл бұрын
@jafizzle95 I trimmed the length of the shaft to what I needed it to be to get the tips as close to the opening as possible. The flanges provide the best seal for my ear canals than any other tips do.

But it cost are not cheap either, have to use it carefully and clean it proper everytime I use it. Type E is another my favorite, it soft and provide pretty nice comfort. But the nozzle is pretty soft, it will wider if use it with IEM that have big nozzle. Not in the video though but JVC Spiral Dot is the interesting eartip as well. its odd to me that manufacturers don't show the diameter of the opening at the tip of the eartip (narrow, medium or wide tip end). As far as I can tell, that affects perceived sound more than any other factor. The second biggest factor is how far the eartip tip situates into the ear canal... the further, the more clean treble. Final E are very narrow, CP145 I'm going to order but seem normally narrow... It looks like the Xelastec is med/wide, and Spring look fully wide. I cannot tell from the video whether the opening of the W1 is more medium than narrow. Can you tell what it is? Another attribute that might affect sound, but I'm not sure about it, is the thickness or density of the exterior of the eartips (not the center/bore). I suspect that a very thin exterior would not transmit bass as well.

I think those are made for iems with really thin nozzles like Shure's. Is that what you are using?

the diameter of the holder on 155 larger than 500? I tried 500 for Variations and the holder part slightly covers 2 of the 3 holes on nozzle

How often do you (or I should) change the ear tips?

Great comparison Dave! I'm also starting to play drums and I was wondering which IEM is your preferred one for that under 300usd? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I don't know if you can stretch your budget but it might be worth it If you can find a used Blessing 2 or Blessing 2 Dusk. I did like the 7HZ Timeless on drums but fit wasn't great.

Olá amigo! Muito interessante seu vídeo. E quanto às ponteiras de memória? Você nunca testou? Estou usando as que acompanham o KZ-D-Fi e estou gostando, principalmente do isolamento.

This is a good video, but it's not exactly what I was looking for originally... To explain what I mean, I'll say this, I've bought cheap in ear earphones, and got them with both black and white tips, and for whatever reason I preferred the thicker white ones over the thin disposable looking black ones. Why, did the white sound better? No, but they FELT better, or perhaps more comfortable is a better way to describe it, although it's truly hard to put how they feel compared to the black ones, into words... Also, by white and black I mean the frosted white color seen here and the standard black "cheap" tip included in most$5-$20 earphones... What I'd like to know though, is how to go about judging the quality of included IEM tips, as I'm looking at trying out a set of IEMs, and specifically looking at the "Truthear x Crinnacle Zero Red" IEMs, as they're relatively cheap, at around 55$, while being tuned and designed in conjunction with Crinnacle...(cheap yet good quality)

DDHIFI ST35 tips have the same kind of bendy core , come with a nice case and are more comfortable than spintips IMO and less $
