I have immense respect for Earl Boykins. It's tough to be a little man in a game dominated by bigs, but Boykins proved he could score with the best of them. The fact that he carved out a role as a scorer and not a facilitator like other small guards at the time makes him a truly unique player.

Yeah man, Earl Boykins remember how Earl Boykins put up some points. Especially with the Nuggets and Bucks.

If Earl Boykins was 6'4", he'd be the greatest player of all time. Muggsy Bogues, Earl Boykins, and Spud Webb were some of the most talented players to ever lace their sneakers up in the NBA, when you consider their size, and what they had to do to prove themselves worthy to play in a league full of giants. They don't get the recognition they deserve.
@17thN.O9 ай бұрын
Agreed! imagine if those small dudes were average size. Just a wild thought. I was 4 inches taller than him by the 8th Grade.
@cuttycut23249 ай бұрын
If he was 6'4.....he wouldn't be the same player....think about what makes him great...if he's taller he loses that edge and becomes just like anybody else 6'4....we tend to forget this in hypotheticals

He's a great because he is shorter, and better than most taller players.

Yep. If you're 7'4" you don't need to be a great athlete to make the NBA. You just need to not be a klutz. But anybody under 6 feet playing pro b-ball is an athletic freak of nature.

I love Earl Boykins, so I fully respect him as a man. It’s hard to be a short man in this wicked world. He was a bad man.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

One thing I have noticed the most about little guys in the league is dont bet on yourself on a big contract. Especially if you're over 27 or 28. Like you said the league isn't forgiving

You should do one about Paul Millsap. even though he retired literally two seasons ago he already has been forgotten for most of casuals. A case could be made for Al Jefferson as well, one of the best players evers to not be an All-Star

The first time I heard of Boykins was when he was at eastern Michigan and beat Duke in the NCAA tournament Great player in college and a good role player in the nba

Funnily enough, when Boykins was on the Nuggets, he was the reason my family decided to choose a game against the Nuggets in 2006 for the 76ers game we went to that year. Not Melo, but Earl Boykins. (Also, we went to a Cavs game in 2007 because my mom liked Anderson Varejao, not because of LeBron. Though the other games were pretty normal (Kings because of the entire 2005 starting lineup (though Peja was hurt and Webber had been traded, we still got to see Webber, just in his first game as a 76er), Suns because of Nash, Amar'e, and Shaq, Mavs because of Dirk, Raptors because my dad's a Raptors fan, Blazers because my brother's a Blazers fan))

I once was told by Spencer Haywood's brother that the NBA had a "little man's quota", which is why you don't see any players of average height. Isiah Thomas, Earl Boykins and Spud Webb proved them all wrong.
