There was a time like this- when the artists could sing, play the harmonic organ with one hand and hold the mic with the other ( you need to remember that microphones that could be pinned to your clothing hadn't yet made an appearance) and also really really dance! Earl Grant ! Genius !

Too bad he was feeling down that night...😅 He always has that smile on his face and seems genuinely happy. I loved his Twist at the end!👏👏👏☺️💜

Earls mic falls into his lap, but he doesn't miss a beat. What a pro.

NEVER have I seen a keyboard musician with larger hands than Earl Grant. I doubt if Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Cliburn and Bolet had "chops" larger than Earl's.😮 Living only to age 39, he is in the pantheon of music immortals that never lived to even be 44 years old: BUDDY HOLLY, PATSY CLINE, BOBBY DARIN, ROY HAMILTON, KAREN CARPENTER, JIM REEVES, JOHNNY HORTON, HANK WILLIAMS, JIMMY HENDRIX, JOHN LENNON and JACKIE WILSON. NAT "KING" COLE and RICK NELSON DIED AT AGE 45.😢 Too bad that "the moon walk" wasn't in existence when Earl was active, as he obviously had the dexterity, power and lithe grace to have excelled at it. The internet is full of videos showing young men doing advanced "moon walking" beyond what Michael Jackson had perfected in his day. Sammy Davis, Jr. would have also "nailed" this number. I must google to learn if he ever recorded it.😊
