Earl played like the Earl of old. He also got a lot of luck like he's always moaning about when opponents get lucky with him. And he made it through the whole match without breaking out in crazy. But man, when he's in stroke and in reasonable control of his mind, he is FEARLESS and can really put some master hits out on the table. Magnificent. Applause.

Story I heard about Earl... I choose to believe it... so there's a tournament. Earl misses the pre-tournament meeting, where the rules are explained. Anyways, Earl comes to play his first match, and he's decided to shoot while WEARING A MOTORCYCLE HELMET. Had he made the meeting he would've learned that it was against the rules.

Wow... You could write a book about what not to do in terms of form and foundation between mike and earl. Dropping elbows, jumping up in the shot, body english, twisting the wrist on follow through, using some kind of mutant baseball bat cue, etc etc.

Looks like he’s adapted his cues to be more comfortable because of early onset arthritis. You see it in golf, guys with arthritis in their hands tend to get bigger grips since they cannot grip the club as firm anymore.

There is supposed to be a maximum cue weight of 25 ounces. I don't know if that includes putting on an extension though.

well, Earl had been using those tennis racket wraps on his stick for the longest time now. He said that he wanted his cue to be a bit heavier and that's why he uses those wraps. He adds more and more

Earl always liked his cue's weight as far back as possible, maybe the large diameter helps his grip. His movement strikes me as organic, hope he's OK.
