Shane was unable to sink the intended 2 ball and left an unintended safe (snooker or hook) position, so Earl had the option of shooting the shot left by Shane, or give it right back. This is a major difference between 9 and 10 ball, intended to eliminate the luck factor.

@bro saph.....i shot with it, its a gulyassy and surprisingly light, around 19oz. the extension is really light wood. and his shafts a weird taper on them and slim. hits really good, I was really surprised

Hey, I'm relatively new to pool. I was wondering if anybody could link me to the official 10 ball rules these guys playing under. Confused over some of the things that happen during the match. Also, great match! I got the chance to meet Shane at a bar in Brookings, SD (go to school at SDSU) and my buddy actually played a few games against him. Awesome seeing him play in person.

Of course earl said that HE was being humble towards efren , in nfl and nba we use titles and accolades to determine who’s the best ever correct ??? Efren always lost the finals he would fall apart look it up ! Earl has 5 us opens and 6 world titles ! Shane has 5 us opens and back to back world pool masters and he just won a world pool title in a much much much tougher era of pool , these guys playing today are way way way better than the guys from the 80s and 90s only earl and efren back then . I’ll give ya this much, efren is prob top all around player , but earl and Shane are head n shoulders above efren in the game of 9 ball and it’s not even debatable, your feelings don’t matter only facts

Shouldn't be allowed to set the balls up. Should be a ref not one of the players. The commentry on this is terrible.too busy going off at a tangent talking about things that have nothing to do with the game in hand . Should be explaining the shots as they go along very poor,a lot of people may not understand the game, a bit more guidance might encourage people to take up the game.
