Very interesting video. You mention the glass excise tax, which Ireland was not subject to, hence the development and commercial success of Waterford and other Irish glassworks when English glassworks had to struggle with it.

You’re right, I was a bit cursory there. The curse of knowing something well and expecting others to when talking it about. I give a proper explanation in my video on Bludgeon decanters, and I think I mention it again in the B Edwards of Belfast decanters video. I will mention it again, because it has quite a pivotal role in glassmaking in the British Isle’s in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
