In Da Club was hands down the biggest song of the 2000s. There’s not a single thing close or as pivotal for the rap/hip hop scene in those days. He sold half those album sales just off the back of that song alone and it was the biggest album this side of the millennium. You couldnt listen to the radio for 20 mins without hearing it, it was in every club, wedding, party, at every red light. It was the last huge hit before illegal downloads took off and right when MP3s were becoming a thing. It’s STILL played at every wedding reception, dance, teenagers 10 years later we’re still well aware of it, I mean that song has proceeded thru generations now. There hasn’t been a song since with that amount of impact and popularity so regardless of the voting it deserved to win this. Can’t tell me different. Ridin by Chamillionare or Dirt Off Your Shoulder by Jay-Z would be the only ones that I’d say came close to the hype of In Da Club and those still were undoubtedly are in the shadow of 50s banger. Plus Get Rich or Die Tryin was just an absolute banger of an album in total. That was an album that was prob purchased twice by many because the first cd got used to hell to the point it wouldnt play anymore then once iTunes took over was purchased AGAIN by many. He could prob live lavishly off just the revenue generated by the ringtone sales for god sakes lol
