Thanks for posting up another great game. Good to see the Pict's get a kicking, they are the bane of my SAGA games. Watching em really spurs me and my club mates on to get new forces.

Great stuff. But I have to say, the army list for Early Anglo-Saxons doesn't stand up to what archaeology now suggests they were - imho they should have several elements of elite infantry, probably 4 Blades (like Vikings). THAT's how they invaded.

The early Saxon invaders were no different to the later Vikings Both were pagan both used same ships , able to go inland & attack villages, except the Saxons stayed and ruled , the Vikings came close, but didn't quite manage it.

It feels to me that the middle anglo-saxon is more appropriate than the early list, where it's nothing but warbands. Other games seem to have similar to those lines as well.

My question is, pertaining to the Angle and Saxons, is why when talking about them, you hear Saxons this and Saxons that. But the land was named after the Angles...Angleland.

when the late Roman army was withdrawn from England back to the continent in about 400 AD one of the English rulers Vortigern invited Saxons into the country to provide security, officially against the Picts but they were settled in the South East of the country. Which is kind of like having the Knights Watch based in Dorn. The Saxons invited their mates over on student visas and they ended up over staying - kind of like corporate consultants. Then they staged a management buy out and took over.

It has been brought to my attention that Wb do kill Cv units if they double them. Picts still got hosed. :)

There is no evidence of any battles by Saxons. It appears they just moved in filling the land the Roman's left. Recent video, found here on KZbin, told me.

Kevyn Brownell there is no evidence of scholarship on KZbin. There is plenty of evidence that Germanic peoples displaced the indigenous peoples of Britannia in the 5th and 6th centuries AD.

@@spocksleftball Displaced indigenous people of South Britain (England), The anglo-saxons never ventured to North Britain (Caledonia) if they did they would've got their arses kicked and telt to go hame. The Picts in Scotland were at their strongest between the 5th and 9th centuries
