@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 you guys must have some rapport with the FDNY. At times, I’ve gotten questioned (early arrivals can be suspected by fire officials) and even told I wasn’t allowed to take pictures at one. So I always feel that I must be very subtle about my video making. You guys walk around like you are Battalion Chiefs! Your video should be fed live to the command post for perspective.

@@ccc530The reason is that Jj has been a fire buff for almost a decade and skyler for almost 7 years , so over time they have gotten to meet and know many firefigthers , some who are now luitenants , captains , batallón chiefs and algo high ranking members like cheif More and Esposito

@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Just think, If each of the shops had a firewall extending through the loft and costing a couple of thousand dollars, all this would have been avoided. They have been statutory in the UK, since the great fire of London. We have a joke over here, about an annual award in the US, for for the architect who designed the best bonfire. The everyday citizens in your country are lovely people, who are always welcome in the UK. But when it comes to work, the councillors are a joke. Have you ever visited the UK,? Looking for our fires would be very frustrating, but I am sure that you could visit a couple of firehouses and enjoy a coffee. Most of the lads would have enjoyed your videos.

Nice catch JJ. Sometimes you just get lucky. A “Taxpayer” is so named because originally, land owners who didn’t have the money to erect a large permanent structure, would cheaply build these one storey occupancies and rent them out just to pay the taxes on the land until they were ready to build something substantial. Cheers!

Poor Maj. MAJ my friend, you were standing in front of it before you walked to the intersection asking where the barber shop is. Did you forget your glasses again or is the diopter adjustment out of whack. Good to see you still doing a great job representing our brothers and sisters in NY. As always my friend, you keep smashing out of the park, grand slams when it's a 4-5 bell response. You get view points no on else can get; all the locals know you and get you onto roofs in amazing places. The department needs to get a picker truck outfitted for aerial shots and a chauffer to get you inside the lines and off of some of those sketchy roofs. Speed safely brother in all our hearts. Your FD friends in Alberta Canada. We binge watch this all night after a 3 am dump of adrenaline after going to a major rowhouse block fire in the alley...ANOTHER dumpster fire called by a whacked out pipe head seeing fairies and unicorns in technicolor.

How does the box system work in NYC? Here in Philly, a box is 4 engines, 2 ladders, 2 battalion chiefs, and a medic. A 2nd alarm will pull 5 more engines, 2 ladders, and 4 additional chiefs. Once the fire is confirmed, Rescue 1 and a RIT will go with additional medic. All hands will pull a SO squad, and a deputy chief, plus a Community Action unit and EMS supervisors.

In my FDNY buffing days there were alot more sticks than tower ladders. The use of a ladder pipe was alot more common. Every FDNY stick is still equipped with a ladder pipe. Even though the tower ladder is a safer platform for elevated master stream use. Sometimes I wonder about the time trade off when sticks are in place and are no longer needed for roof egress not to use a ladder pipe rather than taking the time to move complete units around. Finally good buddy keep a supply of weather gear on squad 99. The shot of you standing in that runoff water in the cold weather made me cringe.
