Have been enjoying watching Big Red taking care of her little ones. Was worried for the one up front not getting food at first then all of a sudden the little one started to assert itself! Looking forward to watching them grow.

7:35 So amazing how the mother feeds these chicks so equally and methodically,knowing exactly the portion that each one can tolerate. Truly grateful for this live cam that brings nature into our personal spaces. How magnificent to experience new life!

What adorable babies! I was a bit worried for the chick laying there. Then boom l am awake. Chicks were hungry! I am so pleased that Big Red was serving breakfast. 😁

After reviewing back from 12 hours ago, I was thinking that was papa all day because the head looks dark (mama’s head is lighter in color); whichever parent it is, I haven’t seen the other parent for most of the day.

I think the darker colored hawk is the female.

@@SunflowerOfTheEast I thought the darker colored one was the male because it is smaller than the other one. Also, the hawk with the lighter colored head was mostly incubating the eggs. ETA: I feel better now - this morning at the 5:48:15 mark, the camera panned around to a light fixture and I saw the other parent. And then at 5:52:10, it arrived at the nest😊

I’m new to watching this channel, but would love some history. Do Red and Arthur ever have a chick who’s simply too small and weak to get their share of food? There seems to be plenty in the larder, but I get anxious when one is clearly smaller and less strong than the others.
