@ericsele55003 ай бұрын
Stroud had a great year and his offense got upgraded. He’s a risky pick going that early but I think the ceiling is even higher. 3 great weapons, a good TE, a good RB. There’s no reason this offense shouldn’t be in a scoring position a lot. The floor is high and the ceiling is elite. I do think tank Dell is special and the number 1 in this offense. Stroud’s absolute floor has to be over 30 tds and his ceiling, if we think he’s great, which I do, could be 45-50 tds I’d rather have him over mahomes who’s going earlier in drafts

@@NaijaTRG can’t blame ya for having Nico as the alpha. He had a great year. I’m going out a little bit on a limb with my tank Dell shot, but I think he’s going to have a year like Amon ra but with more big plays. Maybe even like a big cooper kupp year. I understand the discussion on Zay Flowers, but couldn’t one argue that he broke out the 2nd half of the season as a lot of rookies do because he got better? He was almost solely used as a screen catcher to start the year but then was used more on intermediate and deep throws later into the year. Could he not keep that role despite Mark Andrews? It’s not like Isaiah Likely didn’t take targets when he played. The Ravens offense was good last year but they were with a 1st year coordinator and have a ton of room to improve in my opinion.
@robbygreenan52013 ай бұрын
I was thinking the exact same thing. Their argument was pretty flawed
@johnedward18433 ай бұрын
not necessarily. as a likely owner, his points primarily came off touchdowns, with only 2-5 targets each game. andrew’s would command around 7-9 targets a game, which will take away from flowers. i don’t think their argument was flawed much, they’re successfully accounting for historical data on the lamar and andrew’s connection
@aarondeatherage76783 ай бұрын
@@johnedward1843 after Andrews injury, Zay had 8+ targets in 5 of 7 games. Likely was averaging 6 targets a game, it’s not like they are going from 0 tight end targets to 8 for Andrews. And again, it’s a rookie wide receiver who had a good rookie year and got better throughout the year. The offense can be much better.

Speaking from a Raider fan perspective, while the concerns about D.Adams are valid, one thing I don't think they're taking into account about last year that had a drastic impact on the entire offense's performance is the complete lack of a competent OC and offensive philosophy all season. Before McDaniel's got fired he was calling lackluster plays just trying to tank the season. And after Pierce took over, they promoted the QB coach to OC bc he was the one most familiar with Aiden, but he had never called plays before at any level of football. So the 2nd half of the season consisted of a rookie playcaller trying to Frankenstein a convoluted Josh McDaniel offensive system onto an NFL field, while also trying to cater it around a rookie QB. Luke Getsy might not be the most well regarded OC out there, but he is certainly a monumental step up from where they were last season. And despite everything, Aiden still played relatively well for a rookie thrown into such a mess of a situation, and now he's going into year 2 with an established play caller. Either that or Minshew will be taking the reins, but either way it's a huge leap up from the lows of last season. Imo if age hasn't caught up to him, Davante will crush his numbers from last season
@DaGrizzlyOne3 ай бұрын
UG, I'm sorry, Bears fan here. It wasn't just Fields. I hope you like seeing 6 screens out of every 10 passes. Only an Aaron Rodgers type (that would audible out of his call even if it wasn't "permitted") could de well with Getsy. I wanted that guy as far away from Caleb Williams as possible. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. I feel bad for Raiders fans
@-alostsoul-69023 ай бұрын
@@DaGrizzlyOne I respect where you're coming from with that. I know Getsy has plenty of question marks around him, but I insist you look into Bo Hardegree. The man tried, but he was completely out of his depth as an NFL OC, was literally learning on the job each week calling plays. Now, it's not like i'm hyped up for Getsy, and I don't think it was all Fields fault either. Imo Chicago was a poor mix between coaches and player where the player didnt fit the system and the coach didnt suit the player, which undermined them both, but neither are quite as bad as they appeared.. either way, sad as it might seem, Getsy is still an improvement over what we had in Hardegree. It was a screen every other play for us last season too lol, except lacking any basic concept behind why we were even doing it. They were just default "idk" plays from Hardegree. Getsy at the very least brings along experience and a reason and concept with his screen game. If Adams isn't washed, I really have a hard time seeing him doing worse in this system bc even if Getsy is the worst OC in the NFL, he's at least a real OC with his own system and concepts that he himself installed and understands. Hardegree was none of the above. A newbie QB coach pushed into a 1st time OC role that he really wasn't built for, with a playbook he had nothing to do with and a rookie QB. I really cant state it enough just how unacceptable of an offensive system we had going last season. Its amazing we even did anything with the ball, let alone got Adams the numbers we actually did
@DaGrizzlyOne3 ай бұрын
@@-alostsoul-6902 Well, it does seem you at least jumped out of the firer and back into the pan. Sometimes a fail experience and a second chance elsewhere can work wonders. Herbert is the value of the draft, to me. Yeah, Chargers are going to run. In modern NFL there is no way 30 attempts a game isn't minimum (with Artie out of the HC picture). With 500 attempts 3700-4000 yards is about right, 28-34 TD's isnt crazy expectations, 350-400 yards rushing is in line with what he's done, 4-6 rushing TD's is not a crazy expectation either. That works out to a 18-ish to 20-ish ppg if he keeps his TO's low, a top 10 QB any way you slice it. Herbert is my "in case of emergency" QB if I don't get a running QB.
@ChadTheDragonLord2 ай бұрын

You guys talk about how broken FF scoring is with QB scoring, specifically around QBs that rush. Why does everyone still play with that scoring system? It's as antiquated, IMO, as not using PPR. My league makes QBs the highest scoring players by far because we give them a point per completion and -.5 per incomplete. 7 points per TD. 5 points per 100 passing yards. This makes rushing QBs not the FF superstars that they are in other leagues and rewards the actually better players for their performance and reflects real football a lot better. Not saying we have this totally nailed down and the perfect solution but it's a lot better than having mediocre QBs that rush a bunch being FF top QBs. Every industry pod on the subject is in pretty much unanimous agreement that QB scoring is dumb, so why do the majority of leagues still play that way?
@ericsele55003 ай бұрын
Rushing QBs rushes are more valuable than RB rushes a lot of the time. If a defense has to account for a rushing QB while defending the pass, doesn’t the scoring for QB rushes reflect how important that is. And often these rushes pick up first downs on throwing downs.
@joshiverson29613 ай бұрын
@@ericsele5500 I don't see how QB rushing is more valuable than a RB rushing. It doesn't lead to a better passing game or success. Look at the QBs that have won the SB over the last 20+ years, Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Rodgers, Manning(s), etc. all of these QBs are mostly pocket passes that will occasionally scramble. Russell Wilson is the only QB to have rushed for like 800 yards in a season that won a SB I think ever. These mobile QBs are exciting and fun to watch but they don't lead to success long term. Allen, Lamar, Hurts are great examples - not great passers but very mobile... None have a ring and none can beat the guys that lean pass first.

@@joshiverson2961 If you have good RBs then the RB rushes are just as important as rushing QBs rushes. I am in a superflex PPR League as we speak 8 hours per pick. I am drafting from the fourth spot. First pick went Josh Allen second pick went city lamb third pick went CMC. We start three receivers. I went Patrick mahomes jameer Gibbs AJ Brown and Travis Kelsey for my first five picks. What's your thoughts Boyz? Also have Jaden Daniels.
