None of my trees have flowers yet, but I see swollen buds on them as of today here in Winter Haven. Hopefully, in a few weeks, they'll flowers.

Could you possibly go through the process for spraying for powdery mildew?

One of my mature trees here in Hillsborough County is blooming. I have also been seeing other trees in the area in bloom. Hoping for a mild winter so that we can get some early fruit. Thanks for sharing Paul.

Beautiful orchard. I'm amazed that trees would cone back after such a hard prune...only a stump left! Could you recommend a good place or programme in Florida to learn about mango tree management?

This video made me recon the neighborhood for blooming mango trees. It's an old neighborhood, didn't see any big trees blooming. Don't think there are many Dwarf Hawaiian, Rosigold and Rosa lurking about. If any, they would be tucked into the backyards out of sight.

Hi I have a mango plant and I have planted it for the last 2 years but it's very slow in growth though I am regularly watering it but still not working, I am in Australia, I need your advice regarding to accelerate the plant growth.😊

Is it ok to still have new leaves emerging from tips? Pickering and Fruit Cocktail in Broward.
@TropicalAcresFarms10 күн бұрын
It’s undesirable from a fruit production standpoint because it reduces the chances that those stems will flower and fruit. Older more mature stems are more likely to respond to bloom stimuli. But depending on weather conditions and cultivar, sometimes those recently flushed stems can still bloom.

They usually are grafted as trees, because many won’t come true from seed. Poly embryonic type mangos can grow true from seed though most of the time. Seedlings also have to go through a longer juvenile period before they can fruit compared to grafted trees.

Curious if that was the Philippine mango tree that was experiencing die back in last December? It was much taller than 40 ft then.
@TropicalAcresFarms10 күн бұрын
Yes it is very tall. It’s not unusual for trees that size and age to experience some dieback after back-to-back large crops but the tree is still doing very well.

Do you have a list of varieties that don’t require 60f to flower?
@TropicalAcresFarms9 күн бұрын
A lot of that depends on climate because the list of varieties that can flower via drought stress (as opposed to sub-60F temps) in tropical countries is long, but here in south Florida where our “dry” season isn’t typically as intensely dry as those places, varieties on that list would include Edward, Rosigold, Dwarf Hawaiian, Rosa, and Julie, to name a few.

@@TropicalAcresFarms Do you think that cecilove, honey kiss, son pari, or super julie would do well without cold weather?
