I visited Chicago last week with a friend and we took the trip to the firehouse aka McGinty's! The Early Edition theme was playing in my head as all the memories of the show and the 90's came back!

My father used to watch Early Edition. One time, I watched it with him and became a fan of the show and Kyle Chandler. This was back in 1999. I'm glad they finally released all seasons of Early Edition on one box set. To me, EE was Kyle's best TV show he did.

You know they only used that location for exterior shots right? McGinty's bar set was at Chicago Studio City on Roosevelt Rd near Central. I did a lot of extra work on that show and was at McGinty's bar a lot on the set. I worked a couple times on exterior shots of the old fire house that you shared here. I loved working on that show. Kyle was really nice. The whole cast and crew was really nice. Fun to work on that show and I absolutely love that show...watched it all the time and got the boxed DVD set...Very lucky to have been able to work on it. Loved every minute of it...I post a bunch of clips of my extra work I did on the show of the scenes I remembered working on even if I didn't see myself in them and the ones I did see myself in...I worked on 35 episodes over the years.

Yup. I know it was only exterior, but that is still "the set: in my mind. Awesome that you worked on it! I'll have to check out some of your videos.

very cool. They never should have cancelled the show. It would be cool to work on something like that. My neighbors daughter works for the NBC Chicago shows Chicago Fire, PD, Med at the studios on the west side

God who waits for DVD releases anymore ? Who watches DVD's these days anyways lol ? You'll find these episodes online on several sites, and they have been there for years now.

I got my DVD box set. I'm so happy. I watch an episode each night. I still have my episodes of EE on VHS.

I missed the pilot for Early Edition when it first aired but the first episode I saw was "Gun". After that I was hooked because I said to myself "things like this happen". It took me a while to catch up with the show , but it was worth it

You're welcome! I'd rather it be left alone so it doesn't get ruined. However, the last-ish episode DID set it up for a new character when Gary gave the girl the pocket knife...

@@SonusVita I agree. This show is wonderful without a reboot. No one can play Gary Hobson other than Kyle Chandler in my opinion. I only wish they had completed the story instead of just stopping it. This show is a hell of a lot better than most shows today. I only wish it had a longer lifespan.

@@JazzFan76 They did complete it! When Snow gave the knife to Gary, he started getting the paper when he was older. That same can be inferred with Gary giving the knife to the girl. A little imagination, and it's a good ending. :)

I'm a big fan of EE, I have all of the episodes from 4 seasons. 😍 This show was the best American tv show FOR ME. no nudity scenes or sex scenes whatsoever.. But the show is still great on its own way.

It was a great show! Chicago is a really cool city. It is a perfect mix of historic and modern. This is the only video that I made using the theme. Do you watch Shameless? That takes place in Chicago, and I did a video on that too.

Funny thing is the bar was never called McGintys until season two. And in the pilot the bar they go to was shown as being in Lincoln Park. Then season 2 when it became McGintys it was located downtown on Franklin and Illinois streets

Something most people probably don't know--the season before "Early Edition" began, there was a show on Fox called "Strange Luck" that was similar in the sense that various seemingly disparate things happen to the main character early on & then progressively converge as the show continues.
