Before the coming of Christianity Ireland was a significant centre for the Druids, a strange and elusive group of priestly magicians who had a presence all across western Europe. In those times, the religion and beliefs of the Irish were tied more directly with nature, the movement of the sun throughout the year, and the celebrations of death and fertility.

Very balanced presentation. I tell people right off that the Druids were the educated class of Europe. Pre Celtic too, as in Fir Bolg. Pythagorus studied with them. They maintained the old knowledge from prior times. That is why their geis on written material for the most part. What wasn’t put to rote can disappear in a flash from natural or man made disaster. @@rwshaw1234 Yeah that video's a load of hogwash. A lot of his information on Irish sites were wrong as well and showed he lacked knowledge of the language and it's etymology. The Druids were the priest castes who splintered off from the IE groups but in rituals would've had functions similar to Brahmin's and Volvas. Potentially something more unique to them, but definetely not some initiatory caste that traced its origins to the last ice age

The ancient celts observed a lunar calendar, which means each month was a lunar cycle; new moon-full moon-dark moon. A lunar cycle is roughly 29.5 days, which means each month was 29 or 30 days. 12 cycles is a bit over 354 days, and 13 cycles is a bit under 384 days, which means there was a 13th.month in some years. There is a 19 year cycle in this calendar in which there are always 12 years of 12 months each, and 7 years of 13 months each. The festival of Imbolc was always at new moon, Beltane&Lunasa were both always at full moon, and Samhuinn was always at dark moon. Samhuinn means; summer's end, it was the end of the year/end of month/end of summer, it was at least 1 month after autumnal equinox, and at least 1 month before winter solstice. Imbolc was at least 1 month after winter solstice, and at least 1 month before vernal equinox. Beltane was at least 1 month after vernal equinox, and at least 1 month before summer solstice. Lunasa was at least 1 month after summer solstice and 1 before autumnal equinox. That is how their calendar worked, the same way as the ancient greek/german/hebrew/arab/babylonian/hindu/chinese and other calendars worked.

@@siofra3819 Greets from my Stuart side; my grandparents were Gaelic and Ket Gaelic is also the root language of the Amurru, the Tarim Basin redeaheaded giants in tartan to be exact. Tartan in the Mongolian desert? Well, the root language of the Apache, Navajo and Dene/Athapaska tribes of North America is the same Ket Gaelic. I think before Goidl Glas standardised it for the global nobility, it was already kind of global, as the Meshwash of what's now Lebanon spoke Gaelic too and wore tartan and they were also called Amorites, close to Amurru of the Amur river drainage pyramids. Great video dude. It's kind of wild how little is known about what seems like a wide and very powerful Irish native spirituality, although it's kind of cool that they passed down the knowledge orally, much like the Buddhists, who, James Bonwick speculates, were actually the first religious missionaries to visit the isles. He goes on to point out that the cross shapes on the oldest English church bells actually resembled Buddhist crosses, and that the Protestant Church fought the adoption of the cross for 2-300 years! It is an amazing book, if you can imagine a man in his 70s who has done decades of research so he can cut down half-steppers at the knees in one sentence. He is like the original battle rapper, only he spent years of his life researching the works of fakes and is not afraid to go out swinging.

I wonder if there is any link to Atlantis or Tuatha De Danaan, and as these apparently bred with the locals. eg those irish even today who are spiritual sensitives might be of that bloodline. Even some connection to the hemochromatosis genetics which is most common in west Ireland, given all the iron mythology.. the people with these genetics are most negatively affected by iron in food, and iron is considered a spiritually heavy metal. HC is very underdiagnosed but becoming big underdiagnosed problem for many irish due to iron fortification of the food supply, particularly wheat/ cereals.

Excellent vid, Thank you! But we know many things about the Druids: 1) the description that the Romans left on writing, like Cesar's. The Carnutes' forest Druidic annual meetings in Gaul, with Duids from Britain and lreland too. 2) Tacitus accounts on how the Romans killed the Druids on Ynish Mona (Anglesey) because of the power they had over the warriors of Boudicca. 3) we know less the religious functions, but we know much more about the Poets or Bards, like Taliesin and Aneirin, from the Vth century AD. 4) the lrish medieval litterature and the Mabinogion also tell us many things about the Druids.

@@michaelmartin4383 1) Maiden Castle is in Dorset, England. I don't see how an lrish would think that an enclosure causeway built by the Brits is related to him. Unless you're an English. Besides 1800 BC is not Neolithic, it's the lron Age at its full, and it's very possible that the Celts, who were already there too, built it. Newgrange is a much better example for the Neolithic, instead. 2) l don't think that the lrish are primitive hunter-gatherers. My son is half lrish and l know the lrish are Celts, just like us, the French. We were also hunter-gatherers before the Celts, and we have also built many megalithic monuments, like the cyclopean Menhirs alignements in Carnac. There are many others astronomically designed, as well, in France. 3) Now the analysis of ancient DNA has proven that the Celts (Yamnaya Proto Celts and Bell Beakers) replaced no less than 90% of the male line in lreland, Gaul and Britain between 4000 & 2500 BC, and spread the Celtic language, but if you don't read the recent works l've quoted above, you will die denying population replacement. Things change, we have to update. Even Sir Colin Renfrew, has recognized that his lifelong theories were wrong regarding all this. Ancient DNA results are conclusive.

After the Reformation, the belief is Saints as celestial agents of God began to fade. This proliferation of angels was a direct growth from the pagan pantheon tradition. Catholicism is particularly well-suited to replace paganism with all its mysteries, trappings and demi-gods. This would explain the rare bloodless transition to this newer religious tradition in Ireland. J T I’m not confused at all, I just study history and genetics. The Beaker People arrived in Britain around 2,400BC and completely replaced the indigenous megalith builders. The entire (or pretty close) genetic pool of Britain was replaced. It appears that the Beaker People brought over a plague which ravaged the megalith builders and wiped out most of the population, the remaining survivors being slaughtered by the Beaker People. The Beaker People then set about destroying / burying the megalithic culture, there is evidence for this all over Britain from the Ness of Bodgar to West Kennett. Everything changed in 2,400BCE, all megalith building stopped and was replaced with barrow building. The bones of the ancestors were removed from their sacred burial mounds and reinterred outside, the entrances to the megalithic monuments were symbolically sealed with the invaders’ beakers. The megalithic builders have the same genetics as the modern Sardinians and Basque people. J T I think the concept that Irish DNA hasn't changed in 10000 years may be wrong. There are at least 3 ancient royal subgroups not even counting grunt DNA. We have elongated-skull Mittani/Scota and Scythian, which was most likely Anatolian/elongated skull too so possibly the same breed, and also Tuatha and Fomorian. The serpent priests of Horus that became Mittani, the noblest of the noble clans, had always been known as strictly their own species, unrelated to the grunts, and whom were reluctant to breed except to nobility, the measure of which was genetic. So if the royals are indeed related to each other we have here the eastern spread of the Atlantean colonies, but they are less than 10% of total numbers because that's how the ruling class is set up, one to many. Eye on the ball is keeping the breeds separate and determining their origin and loyalties, believe it or not...even today... People were originally purpose-bred like dogs, for behaviour, to keep each in his own class or box that he can't get out of due to impoverished intellect, so it makes a huge difference what the genetics for each tribe's character and intellect are. I feel like a steward, and greets from my Stuart side for example. Given the huge character and mental differences between tribes, crossbreeding also dilutes natural abilities or strengths of a clan, making some abilities, some of which being "paranormal", more spotty in following generations.
