Thanks Mr. BigBad. I actually successfully made my own little gamepad prototype a few years ago, interfacing directly with the mouse port in the back of my Plus using a microcontroller and started to make prototype 3d casings, but this project blows past that it's not even funny. I'm grateful for it and can just abandon the back burner project.

Nice. I’ll definitely put it on the maybe list. What bugs me is using a computer more capable than the vintage computer itself as an accessory. It feels like cheating lol. 😂😂

Well um...about that. There's a pi3b managing keyboard/mouse/gamepad inputs. Then, there's a Pi zero with CPLD hat (the RGBtoHDMI) to convert the TTL video signals to HDMI and allow modern capturing, then a Pi Pico inside the BlueSCSI managing my virtual SCSI devices and if I wanted, yet another pi3a inside a PiSCSI that could manage its own SCSI devices including a virtual Daynaport allowing internet access. The "Mac Plus received help from current day computers" line has been crossed a looooong time ago in my case ;) oh yeah, a FloppyEMU is plugged in the external disk drive and virtualized 400kb and 800kb disks, either in DSK format or Moof (which includes bad sectors), it uses a microcontroller iirc
