I spent 6 months in the icu, on my back, looking at the ceiling. Learning to walk again was incredibly hard. I remember the first step I took all by myself. I cried.

I took five steps forward in the presence of a physical therapist, then suddenly decided to take five steps backwards towards the edge of my hospital bed. We were both surprised! I remember feeling like a superhero! 🦸‍♂️

@@seabassvn LOL! @seabassvn Looking back just four months ago, taking five steps was a very big deal. I'm sure you were proud of yourself with the milestones you made in your recovery. Heck, I'm proud of you, too! 👍🎉🥂🍾

This was me seven months ago. After an emergency abdominal surgery on Christmas Eve, I was unable to stand or walk until the end of April because I had acquired critical illness myopathy. I spent two very long months in the hospital, two weeks in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital where I received four hours a day of physical and occupational therapy, then two months of physical therapy at home. I literally believed I would never walk again. But committed physical therapists, nurses, and the Lord proved me wrong. I just went away to the mountains for my birthday and drove 55 miles home. I'm good as new because of their help. 🎉 ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉

My mom is suffering from this now. It's been a month since her cardiac arrest. I am heartbroken and feel so defeated. This just gave me hope

Same here, 6 months in bed. I never thought I was going to walk again. But it’s possible. Nurses are the reason I’m alive and walking today.

@@Honourable-zz3eo Adin my physio was absolutely instrumental in my recovery. Physio therapists, nurses, medical assistants, surgeons, family doctors… they are all as important and all necessary. Good luck in your studies!
