Early Morning Tautog/Blackfish Fishing - Ocean City Maryland Inlet

Early morning Tautog/Blackfish bite was on today! I went down to the inlet to fish and watch the sunrise. Fishing was great, caught a couple 13" fish, but still no keepers yet.
Rod was a 10', 8000 reel, tog rigs with 4/0 circle hooks tipped with shrimp and a 9oz bank sinker.

What up Jay?!! I grew up visiting my grandparents in Selbyville and fishing around OC all my life, but never fished for tog. I watched a bunch of your videos and took my kids tog fishing on Sunday in front of Harrison’s. We hooked 6 in about and hour and landed 3. Such a blast!! Thanks dude👍🏻 keep it up

I visited over the summer and did pretty good at the jetty catching a bunch of fluke. Nice work You ever consider hitting that at slack tide to use a lighter tog jig?

The inlet is a great flounder spot! I've seen a bunch of big ones pulled out of there. I tend to stay away from lighter jigs at the inlet only because of current and snags. Unless fishing from a boat or kayak, you'll get snagged a lot or the light line will rub on the rocks and break off.

Hey Jay another great vid, I love the shots of the inlet it's really beautiful there, I like how the point of the Inlet Jets out into the ocean, ocean city is really beautiful lots of good places to fish. Quick question Jay do you think you'll hit Assateague this fall before xmas?? I know you mentioned that's one of your favorite places to fish, has to take is another beautiful place to fish Proud to call Maryland my home.

Thanks Ken! I've been trying ti make it out to Assateague, but it's been closed a lot due to overwash on the OSV. The nor Easter we had in March, mixed with the 2 hurricanes really messed up the island, so every time we have a bigger than usual high tide, they shut it down. Hoping I can get out there soon though!

My oldest believed me she was 6 the middle punched me the oldest told me I was crazy it was interesting I had to play it again it was vinyl couldn't fast forward might be good timing if they still study pilgrims in school
