Fall Striper Fishing - Beach Fishing On Assateague Island National Seashore | Ocean City Maryland

The fall striper fishing is on in Ocean City MD! Every year the stripers migrate south, I heard they were starting to come here, so I figured now or never! I loaded up my rods and headed out to the surf on Assateague Island in hopes of landing at least one!
Rigs were high/low with 6/0 circle hooks.
Bait: Salted clams and finger mullet,

Skate with brown butter white wine and capers and fresh dill a shake of Oldbay and a lemon slice squeezed YUM, you will never throw the skate back again, jut watch the barbs on the back.

Thanks! January can be slow for fishing, but watch the fishing reports. We've had a late season striper migration the last 2 years that happen in January.

Hey Jay, just watched you catching striper in late fall. I wanted to ask you what big fish are running in September on aseateague? Plus, any good fishing off OC beach in September? Thanks again for your help.

Check out my website, reeljayb.com/ it has a calendar on the front page showing what species are here each month. Usually the Fall migration for bigger Drum and stripers is around November(ish) I've seen it as late as December before. But I would try to target Bluefish in September, they are usually here.

Don't the striper need to be 29" just to keep i haven't fished OC in many moons but anyway nice catch and you had beautiful weather, i miss surf fishing it's been a year since I've been, thanks. Larry

New regs for striper are 28" to 31". The Chesapeake regs are different. Thanks for watching!
