The most obvious mapping for Volume 5 in my opinion would be USM #150-160, Ultimate Fallout 1-6, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up 1-16, and USM Super Special #1. I hope that's what they do anyway.

I think this is a great volume, the weakest part here is the middle section with ultimatum, I actually really enjoy the reboot and the chameleon storyline especially. If they do a volume 5 they would probably include ultimate doomsday to pad it out, though it's more a fantastic four story, it still includes rick jones, human torch, spider-man and woman and doc ock.

Glad to have this coming to complete the set - haven’t read it before so didn’t realise there’s a drop off in quality though probably to be expected. Have to say only read USM for the first time last year and loved volumes 1&2 so much. Also loving the (p)reviews coming back on the channel as well. Thanks man

Thanks for the review Gem Mint! Got this pre-ordered. Super excited. I have UDOSP but have held off from reading it to read this first. This run has shot up my fav runs list very quickly. I love it. Bagley is the man for this series but Immonen is one of my top artists. Hey, where's the love for Miles? Death Of goes into the Ultimate Miles series that then goes into the Miles Spider-Man series in the 616 post Secret Wars. It's amazing how long Bendis went on this series. His entire Marvel career. The first volume is excellent. I really enjoy the art from Bagley the characterization of Peter and Mary Jane. The only arc that's tiresome and isn't well paced is the one about Spider-Man trying to clear his name against the police against a copycat. The second volume is overall pretty good. The arc where he meets the X-Men isn't my favorite but aside from that it's pretty good. The third volume is where I remember the book becoming a bit more hit and miss and once Bagley left and the ending of 115 was a perfect ending that didn't have me excited to read anymore.

ahhhh, this sucks. Not more then a few months before omnibus vol 1 came out I had bought all the trade paperbacks, cost a lot too. It's so hard not buying them again in hardcover form. Still waiting on Wolverine omni vol 1 re print, no way in hell I'm spending $400 for a used copy.

The art is a huge downgrade from Bagley. Backgrounds and scenery look good, but the character faces and proportions are all jacked up. Might read this all digitally before making the investment. To get my hands on all these books is gonna cost me like $600 being in Australia lol.

That was the very first proto omni that was put out exclusively by Barnes & Noble in 2004. It had issues #1-39 and 1/2 collected in it along with Amazing Fantasy #15. Marvel's very first omni, the Fantastic Four Vol. 1 by Lee and Kriby would release the following year.
