State works out a deal with a farmer. Farmer comes and plants X amount of acres. Harvests most of the corn and then it gets flooded.

8:40 pretty sure it’s a hen. Drakes bills are all black and have big black patch on their butts. Could be wrong bcuz couldn’t see it perfect but think it’s a hen. Great video by the way

That’s public land. Some public areas plant corn but most aerial seed millet or just draw the water down for moist soil plants like smart weed and wild millet. I only know of one place in Iowa that has flooded corn on public land.
