Love Ozu movies. So glad to see an in depth review. Norika is so evasive emotionally…adds to her mystery. When she walks by her future husband without saying a word… is stunning.

@@DeepDiveFilmSchool As an aside. I’ve been to Kamakura and visited the Buddha bust. I was with a friend and we tried to find out where Setsuko Hara lived. (She was still alive then). But we did not find it…and if we did, we weren’t going to knock. But it was an intriguing pilgrimage.
