To be honest though, it was not that wild of a pred imo. I had the same pred. People are giving Navi way too much slack for being good in the past. They have been a team that make bad decisions and get bailed by individual moments for MONTHS now. With d00mbr0s gone, and player quality higher, they were very clearly gonna have more bad decisions and get away with them less

A solution for the ascension teams could be that riot helps the ascension teams with bootcamps and facilities which can be re used , If the previous ascension teams get demoted the new can can just use the same facility Maybe that can help cost cutting a little bit

Oh Dryad better be brought in next episode lol. It’s so nice to hear someone actually care about and respect latam teams and their players. Brazilian and latam teams have to go through so much shit to even play on the vct stage because of travel, and they’ve still become the punching bag for vct americas. Even Ludwig’s tweet about “fairness” in ascension plays into this (his plan leaves non-US teams out to dry more than they already are now). Having Dryad’s perspective is deeply appreciated.

As long as the tier 2 scene can't sustain itself it will always be unsustainable and generally be gamed by orgs. Both the current and previous tier 2 formats had the same issue, the only incentive was a candy they had on a stick and if you get in tier 1 you get this nice tasty candy (yum) but if you didnt make it you just wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars. A competitive sport is made up of mostly losers, and as long as those losers lose money it will be unsustainable. I dont get how we are arguing for the viability of a tier 2 scene with a relegation system when as Josh said, a tier 1 scene with the same system would be unviable.

Firing d00mbr0s was the biggest failure for Navi.. like they literally were so strong in stage 2 and only got fucked by the format and losing a single elim to THE 2ND BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD AND A GRAND FINALIST. They only lost 1 match and they fire a proven HC who knows these players inside and out and did very well so far in stage 1.. like the TH especially their new coach literally served this team up on a platter allowing TH to get their best map thru and Navis worst map with sunset to already have a 0-1 start.. then they take Zyppan off of raze when he's 1 of the best raze players in the world and put Ardiis on it who never plays it?! Like Ardiis can play any initiator.. why take Zyppan off of raze?!
