I love this channel. Thank you for posting tonite. This day as it is every year is very hard for me. Eleven years ago today I lost my beautiful daughter. My first born. She was just 39. I'm glad I saw your post tonite. It helped soothe me. Thank you & God bless.❤

I was just thinking how they take healthy apples and sweet potatoes and made them into unhealthy heart-clogging vehicles. Way too much butter and frying in lard to be healthy.

My daughters and I (I’m late 30’s and they are 14, 12, and 9) LOVE your channel! We homeschool and have filled their years with great books and stories of history so we love every single video - love love love how there’s no music and it’s just the real sounds of what it would sound like. We’ve learned a lot watching your video and plan on making something over fire on our thanksgiving break. How fun!! Thank you for ALL the work that you put into your videos, I know they do not just happen:)

Everything was just as I remembered my great grandmother Melissa making. She passed it on to my grandma Hilda, who taught me. Then I cooked these for my daughter and now we are teaching my grandchildren! I'm so happy that my daughter has embraced the old ways and wants her children to learn as well.❤ And both grandchildren (a girl and a boy) enjoy cooking and learning recipes 😊.

Mishmish is very petable! Our girl does not allow such impertinence! There is the pick up and hug carry, and head scritches, and all else results in the shedding of my blood. That meal looked delicious! 😂And I like your 2nd thought about butter, then you use the lard with no qualms! I hope you are feeling better, Justine, and that your house is ready soon! ✌️♥️

This is such a fascinating look into the past! 🍂🍴 Cooking dinner as they would have in 1828 is a great way to step back in time and appreciate the simplicity and resourcefulness of life back then. The fall season must have been full of hearty, comforting meals, made with whatever was in season. It’s incredible to see how much history can be reflected in the food and the way it’s prepared. Such a unique and educational experience! 👏✨

They are just so comforting... But may I make this one Very important request? I know you like a little music at the end of the video, But when I am so relaxed, especially if I'm watching your videos in bed and then that fiddle will come on and I will literally jump out the bed 😂 There goes my relaxation...lol! Maybe some soft music at the end?! I really look forward to new videos every week. I even go back to the earlier ones! But Please reconsider the fiddle! 😅
