I almost wish you'd mash more than one day together so we can have a looooong video! I'm still trying to get my first teaching job! So many applications in and a couple interviews and still nothing - buuut I think my favorite part will(hopefully) be actually having a classroom haha. I actually hate the beginning of projects because I always feel like I have too much to do...the middle of the project is my favorite because you can see what you've done AND you can see the end! So much more rewarding haha.

I Teach High School Law and Forensics so I'm putting up old school brick (instead of the wood that everyone does) and I'm making the writing to look like old school graffiti and an underground station. But it only works for me because I teach High school. I don't think this is a good idea for the younger kids LOL! Love the change you made.... I can't wait to see your final walk-through

I'm heading into my 4th full year of teaching and this is the first time that I've stayed with the same grade (almost LOL) so I'm super excited about that. Last year I joined my kiddos mid-Oct. (we start after labour day) so I didn't get to truly make the classroom 'my space' but having been in the room for 8 months I'm stoked to put some new ideas into play. I'm on the shiplap/burlap train this year so trying to figure that out since I don't have a "colour" like your blue/green theme. I like clean white ahah so that is a mini hurdle to jump. I LOVE what you did with the brown wood paper on those shelves - it looks amazing! I just love to decorate in general and haven't been able to have a theme since I taught grade 4 (and did nautical - which I still love). - Canadian 7/8th grade Teacher!

OMG...dealing with books is my personal hell. I am going into my second year....somehow accumulated a library last year. Had it all organized by AR level. Inherited a second library with my new room (new site too) all the books are grouped by theme 🤯 Do I merge them? Spent time cataloging 100’s of books by AR or separating my AR by theme? Your girl ain’t got time for all that! So I now have 2 libraries, side by side.....and the kids can choose their own adventure how they like to find appropriate books 🤷♀️

Mounting putty works best if there aren’t a lot of temperature changes but if you have a lot temperature changes use 3m command hooks. They make some specifically for posters. Also you can use low temp hot glue with painters tape. You put the tape on the back the paper & on the wall then glue the tape pieces together with the hot glue. Additionally you can try low temp hot glue directly on the wall, only if your items are laminated or you will ruin them. Beware hot can leave makes on the cinderblock if it is too hot. Tips I’ve picked after 16 years of cinderblock class rooms. Hope these suggestions help. 👍🏾
