Haha yea that pretty much describes all pc mining these days. My desktop PC doesn't even mind unmineable at all. Fans are purring, but heat is fine. Processor is liquid cooled which helps alot with the ambient heat and it's winter and my office is very chilly. My laptop is another issue altogether. Even propping it open the recommended way to maximize airflow isn't enough when your gfx card and processor are next to each other with small fans to cool. I thought about setting up a graphics card profile to underclock it to mine when not gaming on it. The reward is low for sure so it isn't worth stressing the hardware, but if I can get it setup to run while I'm just browsing or idle without damage then why not. It adds up over time. On my desktop, I don't even know it's running unless I game in which case I pause it.

Haha that was me too when I started. I tried 5 different browsers. Finally got my settings right and now I have several different miners to play with. It's a pain though. Even now I have to allow and restore sometimes in win protection. I SUPPOSE I could go in the settings and just make the folders exempt, but I haven't. It's not so bad once you figure it out. Same for most things I guess :)

they don't have an easy program you can run on macs, but it is possible to manually run the algo's. the hash rates on mac chips is unimpressive though. started my journey hashing with macbook pros, mac minis and mac pros. 1 AMD CPU outhashed them all.

Your computer gives off nearly all of it's electricity input as heat, the same as any electrical heater, so if you're heating your room just view your computer mining operating cost as zero because you're heating your room anyways. Mining in summer has an electrical cost, possibly double if you have air conditioning because your generating heat with electricity and then using more electricity to remove the heat you just generated.

Nicehash is a more elaborate software/platform. However it only pays you out in Bitcoin only. Unmineable is perfect for stacking altcoins, especially smaller ones. Nicehash recently added KYC Requirements, which was a big turnoff for most home miners.
