Loved the interview. Audience, please do your research, movies and documentarys have always been made about us fighting back. We usually don't get the budgets and/or its not glorified at the main stream level but they do exist. I was kid when I leaned about the rebellions in the Carolinas, Florida, Haiti and the Zulu nation on the Continent as well as the recent history of the Panthers. I like what Irv is saying here, but there's one thing that he's definitely off about. The "Paid in Full" film is a cult classic which much like "Goodfellas" and "The Godfather" will resonate as a project that will earn perpetually because of its quality and realism. "American Gangster" accumulated $300 million dollars plus because of the investment of marketing that Studios put into it. "American Gangster" was not a great film. It would have been great if they let Antoine Fuqua(Training Day) stay on as director and producer, but they decided to go with Ridley Scott who might have been great at "Alien" films, but not great at authentic black films. I feel the same way about 50 cent's "Get Rich Or Die Trying" which was directed by Jim Sheridan. He's a great Irish director of the Irish film genre, but not the black American film genre. Irv needs to get a solid black director for the "Supreme Team" film. Quietly he needs to get Hype Williams(Belly) as director, and tell him not to take them to Africa at the end.🤣
