At -40:18 when Gotti speaks about how Nas "ran for the hills" when he suggested that Murder Inc hit Baltimore in Bentelys and Ferraris I'm reminded of the wisdom Nas once shared in one of his most slept on records. Nas was too woke for young Irv. But since I tasted paper it started losin' the friendships/ Watchin' kids freeze in winters, they still poor/ How could I tease them with Benzes and feel no remorse?/ Drivin' past them in the lively fashion, diamond colors clashin'/ Red stones, blue stones, red bones and black ones/ Nas - Every Ghetto (Stillmatic)

The sad thing is, today’s Gotti, as a “mature” man, Irv still doesn’t get it. I was waiting for him to say, Yea, I was young, super high, immature, not thinking clearly that wasn’t a good idea”. Alright yall it's starting to be too many repeat guests and its so many ppl yall aint had on yet especially the ladies. Can we get Queen Latifah Mc Lyte Salt N Pepper..? or some more older R&B legends like yall did with Patti and the Isleys.
@Dano-dn1wb Жыл бұрын
I think those guests were genuinely hard to get.
@SoulOfTheSouth Жыл бұрын
I said the same thing too. It seems like they’re only inviting people that they knew for many years. Bring new people on there. They had Fat Joe on there like 4-5 times. Get the whole Bone Thugs N Harmony on there even though they had Krayzie on a episode.
@_unclecharles_ Жыл бұрын
@SoulOfTheSouth seem like its lowkey turning into a regular media platform and ppl come on there when they got something to promote. irv was just on there this time last year like what else can he talk about that he hasn't talked about the other 2 times he was on there
@brooklynsms.erikakane Жыл бұрын
Yea I'm sick of seeing Irv on here as well... I'm assuming he has something to promote. I would love to see other artists but I heard that they do reach out to other artist but the artist declined... some of them dont want to come on drink champs .

A lot of artists you just mentioned don't really do a lot of public interviews in general so there's a reason there are a lot of repeat guests on Drink champs.
