The person playing the slots will always get more done more quickly. That's not to say stacking isn't a good strategy, too - it's just that it is better for very specific scenarios where you want to focus on other things earlier in the day. If your plan is just rides and attractions at one park, you are always better off playing the slots than stacking. We could do a video to illustrate the point, maybe. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

Love watching your videos and seeing Erick more! We went last year during Spring Break, and we crushed Genie+ and got on all the "big" rides because of your tips and tricks! We are going back in August this year. I would love to see stragey for Genie+ that the rides are close together in the parks. I dont know the lay of the land so much. Great video! You are the best blogger I've seen to describe Genie + in ways we can all understand, including all the pro tips and tricks! Thanks to your description of the refresh button as a slot machine, we have come to love playing the Disney Genie Slots as a game rather than see Genie Plus as work or frustrating. Sometimes I play the slots while waiting for an appointment, even when I'm not going to the parks (just to see the return times change to earlier)! One thing I might have missed in this video, did you mention how on the modify screen you can lose the better time on the "Confirm your party" screen? That's important. One other pro tip: (at 45:00) when you remove someone from your party on a LL, it changes when that person can book again, which can throw that person off the booking schedule that the rest of the party has, which can make it tough to book future LL's for the whole party. That happened to us, so we just kept everyone in the party and had the person who didn't want to ride tap in and then meet us after the ride (which admittedly is a pain for rides with 2 tap points). Thanks for putting these videos out!

I love that you play the slots when you're not at Disney World. 😂 I sometimes do, too. As for canceling someone from a LL, that should only affect their ability to book with the rest of the group if you choose to book something else for them. Otherwise, they should immediately be free to book (assuming the ride they were canceled from was the most recent ride booked) and everyone else is free to book once they all tap in. For cases where you are using the 2 hour rule and you remove someone, they just need to wait until everyone is free to book again and then all book together. If it worked differently than that for you, it was likely an error and a Cast Member at the blue guest experience umbrellas should be able to sort it out for you. Thanks for watching! 😃

There's another or for booking your next ride. Say you got a genie+ for haunted Mansion at 10am and the ride is down at 10am and they change your genie+ to a multi attraction experience then you can instantly book another genie+ cause it freed up your original haunted Mansion genie+ Edit: NM just saw your end remarks 😂 Definitely the best video by far to help people understand genie+. I really hope Disney switches back to the 90 day advanced selections like it was in the old fast pass days.

You can - Lightning Lane return times are available right up until park close (but not during Extended Evening Hours). Just make sure you book your last ride at least 30 minutes before the park closes because they shut down the ability to book at the very end of the night.

Super helpful vids! QQ - You say "After you tap in at the most recently booked LL". Just wanted to clarify the recently part. So lets say I booked LL #1 at 7 am with a return time of 11:15 am. Then I booked LL #2 at 11 am with a return time of 7 pm. When I tap into LL #1 at 11:15 am, I will NOT be allowed to book LL #3 since what I tapped into isn't my most recently booked LL (that would be LL#2). Is that accurate? Also, is there any way to see how many LLs you did and in what order you got them from a previous trip? Maybe somewhere in the mydisney app or website? Thanks in advance!

I don't think so. It always gives me the option to purchase for any of the 4 parks or the hopper - even when I have a park pass for a specific park. So yes, you could just buy HS and start in AK.

Is that still the case? Do you get the first available at the day at the slots or is it still like it was?

It will always show you the earliest available time. You can book a time and keep modifying it to try to get an earlier or later time, but each time you refresh, you will always see the earliest available time. Unfortunately, there is no way to configure it to show later times, you just have to keep checking and/or refreshing until later times pop up. Does that answer your question? I'll be honest, it's been so long since I used FastPass+ now that I think I often mix things up with how Genie+ works.

Hi Kelly! I think it is always best practice to sign into different accounts that are linked together. Even then, it is possible to cancel each other out, but I have found that more recently, it seems to be more tolerant of multiple people booking at the same time and as long as one of you doesn't "confirm" the LL, it won't usually cancel the other time like it used to.

Hi Rob, we are at Disney World for 3 days this summer with a family of 5. I'm a little concerned that we might get bad time slots for the main attractions (people >=4). My question. If I play the Genie + for one person (instead of the same for 5) and a good time is shown down, does the time Change during the process if I increase the number to 5 people? In your videos it looks like you can still adjust the Paries afterwards. Do you have any experience of whether this works and whether it might give familys an advantage? Hi Sebastian! Changing the members of your party takes up precious time, so if you are playing the slots for a very competitive ride, the slot you found would be gone by the time you adjusted the party. That's why we suggest editing your party before you start playing the slots so you don't lose precious seconds when trying to book. It's always best to try to book everyone together all at once and split the party as a last resort. Hope you have a great trip!

I have a question but it’s not related to this video. I watched one of your other videos about a different entrance to Epcot the international gateway I believe it was called. Is it possible to get to that entrance while staying at port Orleans riverside? I wasn’t sure if you can drive to a different resort in the morning to catch a ride on the skyliner

Hi Greg! The only way to use Disney transportation to get there from Port Orleans would be to take the bus to Hollywood Studios and then take the skyliner, boat or walking path over to Epcot. You could also get a Lyft to take you to Boardwalk and then walk over from there. Hope you have a great vacation!

That's a tough one. Right now, I would start in Epcot so I could book the VQ for Guardians in the AM and watch Fantasmic! at the end of the night in Hollywood Studios instead of Luminous over at Epcot. If you haven't seen either one, I'd say Fantasmic! is better.

We did a series of videos called "Practically Perfect Day" where we focused on balancing Genie efficiency with enjoying the parks and did a lot less criss-crossing. We offered some tips in those videos to help with that. In this video, I was really just choosing rides that would allow me to show certain things about using the service. I definitely wouldn't recommend following my path in this video unless your goal is to create confusing Genie situations. 😂

Rob & Eric, thank you so much for your amazing videos. You explain this content so well. I am curious about one thing, we will have a 6 year old in our party who will not want to ride things like ToT. The other 3 of us likely will. Can we book a LL for ToT for 3 of us and then ask to Rider Swap when we check in to our LL? Can I ride with Miss 10 year while Dad waits with Miss 6 years and then can I wait with Miss 6 years while Dad rides after me? Can Miss 10 years ride with Dad for a second time?

Hi Emma! In this scenario, I'd recommend going ahead and booking for everyone so you don't need to bother with changing the party up before booking. Let the Cast Members at the LL entrance know that you will be using Rider Switch and then your 10-year-old would get to ride twice - once with mom and once with dad. Just make sure that the littlest who isn't riding either still taps in at both checkpoints if you go through the full queue or that you cancel her lightning lane so she's ready to book with the rest of the group. Even if she doesn't want to ride, she may enjoy experiencing the queue and pre-show and I have seen where that was an option for folks doing Rider Switch on that ride.

One thing that I don't think has ever been mentioned... if you book a Genie Plus LL at 7:00 a.m. and you don't like your return time, can you immediately start playing the slots to get a different time, or is there a waiting period?

I have good news - you can immediately modify and try to back it up and it doesn't affect the two hour rule when you do that. We always suggest modifying right away if you are not happy with the return time.

My goal in this video was simply to illustrate how the system works and the little quirks of the system. This is not meant to be a suggestion of what rides you should use Genie Plus for and at what times, we have other videos for that. I was always just looking for Lightning Lanes that would allow me to show how things work.
