Because there are people who are naive enough to think something like this is possible and will read that at first glance and dump money into something that won't be possible. I don't think BigFry his opinion is "educated". As I've followed E2 for a little over 8 months now and seen his videos, a lot of things BigFry said in the previous video as well are said due to being mis or underinformed and not even understanding the thing to the fullest. (So no educated opinion). I'm in no way trying to defend E2. But It's a little sad to see all this judging and throwing out such heavy words without even understanding things to the fullest. I'm a game/app developer who has first hand knowledge in the areas he's talking about. I built an app with MapBox, it IS basically like Google maps, it's map data with an API that you can incorporate into an application or website. I made a VR app in Unity with it so I could walk around cities. I worked on some VR applications back in 2016, and I remember all these "smart investors" saying that VR was going to be massive by 2020, it wasn't, it's a niche, but there were stories that Ready Player One metaverses were coming. They ain't, we're so far away from that stuff. Then there's the blockchain, oh boy, this shit has people so confused though they don't know it. I'm not going to go there, but people do not get what blockchains are, and they are not magic solvers of all problems, they're mostly snake oil tokens that make people feel warm and fuzzy. A lot of people are going to lose their cash, I guarantee it.

Not all crypto is usable to purchase things with, that's why dogecoin shot up exponentially recently as Elon Musk claimed he would be utilising it for his businesses. At the end of the day I wouldn't invest in this "game". But I wouldn't think that I'm above anyone who does, especially if I had a platform such as Big Fry as my opinion could have an impact on the value. Well there are no "backers" as it was never a kickstarter game but there were early adopters of the super shitty alpha. Also its not exactly the same when there was an actual company working on it who replaced him when he left. I always felt people were too dramatic about Dean Hall, honestly he should have never been the figurehead of the standalone as putting together an Arma 2 mod does not qualify you to lead a multi-million dollar project with the playerbase and cultural influence DayZ had. Most of his ideas were impractical and just plain bad so him leaving was probably a good thing for the game as a whole.

I worked with a company who was making VR travelling simulator involving real cities, and believe me even after 2 years of hard work we couldn't even make one city to work properly and on top of that that it looked like a old PS3 game cause making it look good was too hardware intensive. The creator was adamant that it was going to work but after investing a ton and wasting years of his life he dropped the project and the reason was we were not advanced enough in tech to make it look good and work properly at the same time.

So... Elon Musk will build his virtual showroom on Earth 2 because.... they've been working on it for a while? What kind of logic is that? What this is, is an attempt to make money. NFTs will be looked at very differently by that point, most likely an NFT for any real world object you want in VR. Tesla like many others by that stage will want people to know you can use their car it those worlds so its very likely the most popular metaverses will have showrooms.

The finacial side of it won't be an issue not like manufacturing real cars. Selling nfts of their cars will just be advertisement for their real world ventures. Their own websites will be their main point of sales but if there's worlds with thousands of people running round then they would advertise there too.
