Great to hear the story of my brother, we kinda lost in the late 80's early 90's as we moved to Australia. Thanx for this...

I have wanted a video series like this to exist for a long time. So great that it's finally coming out! I didn't realize those Peel session tracks from Your Body Robotic were from 1988. They are so much more interesting than Slam and most other official Humanoid releases from that time. Orbital (Feeling) is such a good vibe.

Cheers! And yeah, that Peel Session is some of my favourite pre-Virgin stuff, I always lament the loss of what could have been such a brilliant album.

That moment when Humanoid drops in the Rhythm Stick remix of ‘This is Acid’. An apex edit of the era.

Hard to express how great an idea this series is, immediate like and sub from me, will definitely check out that "link for gearheads". Well structured and narrated and has a very good tone so to speak so thanks from a long time FSOL fan!

Worry not, I've got the whole thing planned out to cover every release right up to 2024! Although that's a long way off yet...

Very informative and interesting video Ross, enjoyed watching. I remember buying Slam in the very early 90s and being thoroughly confused by it after the genius of Stakker. Thought how can this be the same artist.

Lovely mate. Would love to hear the same breakdown analysis of so many other artists, this the South Bank Show special focus on acid... genius work. Would like to buy you a beer.

Cheers - me too, actually, I'm kind of hoping this series might inspire someone with the requisite knowledge to do similar videos for other artists!

Great stuff - I can actually remember Stakker on THM&H at the time. I just stumbled on this FSOL series so really looking forward to tucking into the rest of it (esp Amorphous Androgynous) (and your related ambient series too!)

Sorry, but Morgan Khans streetsounds was NEVER house, but soul, garage and electro, supporting the birth of b boys snd hip hop, NOT house, lol

I'd like to point you in the direction of the Street Sounds compilations House Trax 1 & 2, The House of Hits, The Best of Hip-House... Also many would consider garage to be a sub-genre of house. You're right though, it wasn't primarily a house label, which I do get wrong in the Stakker section, although I correct by the time I get to the Slam part, where I mention electro and hip-hop. Someone get me a proof-reader.
