This is one of those missions that truly goes to show Storm 1 has become so strong he's basically a force of nature at this point. Dude literally clapped one Erginus without even using the Barga, hell I think he could have beaten all three of them without it if given enough time. I also really like how the operators are realizing he's probably been fighting the primers for literal decades longer than anyone else (45 years to be more precise).

@@dansmith1661 Yup, this video was actually my third or fourth attempt to keep _some_ of the monsters alive until the Armament arrives. If I would've played "normally", then Storm 1 could've taken all three out without even boarding the Barga as the NPC allies are actually quite capable this time around (note: with mission level appropriate weapons that is!). One time I took a lot of screenshots of the Armamant Barga and the NPCs took care of the three monsters all by themselves 😅

If you didn't notice, this is the map where you saved those tanks from being crushed by anchors by running in front of them, or when the alien ship dropped a nuke after dropping tons of drones on you.

EDF has been reusing maps in many stages, but most of them occur in different positions so it wouldn't look obvious, Sandlot is sometimes resorceful when it comes with their map assets

It's the future version of the map with the residential apartment The same one where you first meet a mothership The one where you join the Wing Divers in pink to clear the enemies as your 2nd mission officially as an EDF soldier The same one where you meet the artillery froggies for the first time The same one where you meet the dropping monster balls for the 2nd time (it's also a cheeseable mission, good for grinding weapons in EDF5) The same one with a lot of flying enemies in EDF6 where you get a Gepard to shoot them down It's also the same map where you get to know what it feels like on the other side of the Plasmafall weapon the Wing Diver has in a DLC mission (the one with golden ants and armored froggies in 5)

When I saw first time the operator talk abou fighting experience of maybe hundreds of years, I thought she referring to the aliens, so it is about storm 1. And please to all EDF soldiers if tou guys know how to sprint, keep firing your gun or changing your weapons you might become hero as well 😂

ARAMAMENT BARGA FINALLY APPEARS!!! Should have left the Erginuses alive and one shot all 3 of the giant monsters. I think this is the first mission where the operator could be mistakened confessing her love for you

I did try to keep them alive without making it look too obvious. But even if you don't engage them _at all_ the NPC soldiers are just so good in this, they take out at least one of them by themselves. One time I was taking screenshots of the Barga, taking my sweet time, and the Extermination Team actually took out two of them all on their own 😂

So, does the dialogue about Storm 1 change to "she" if you're playing as Wing Diver? Wait, can you play as other classes in this game?

You can play as other classes of course. The dialogue remains the same, though. It's always the same sentence in Japanese, regardless if it's one person, two person, male or female. It's not that they go out of their way to make it gender-neutral either, it's just the way the language works. If you'd translate literally they'd say things like, "Shot down a transportation ship!" or "Is hero!!". The context fills out whether it's "He shot down", "She shot down", "They shot down" (when playing multiplayer), "She's a hero" or "They are heroes!". That's a challenge when translating to English because English works differently. You _could_ always use "singular they" but even that wouldn't cover certain situations like when your playing multiplayer and "Storm 1" suddenly isn't just a single person but a squad of four. Since in these videos it's always just the _one_ Ranger, I was able to translate these situations as "he" to keep the translation sound natural. But it'll be interesting how they tackle this in the official western release. I could see them go with "that person" or using "singular they" and just disregard the multiplayer aspect.
