The International Space Station’s High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment is an external camera platform located on the Columbus module of the space station. In addition to providing beautiful views of Earth, one of the goals of HDEV is to monitor the longevity and quality of its image sensors in the space environment. HDEV operations began April 30, 2014 and only a single bad pixel has been identified.
Testing new engineering processes and camera system longevity expanded into having avid Earth-viewing followers and educational activities. To date, HDEV has reached over 300 million total views on UStream.

It's amazing how there are no stars in sight but we can see them on earth
@ScenicNsanity
@ScenicNsanity 4 жыл бұрын
Its along the same reason why we can see the stars, sometimes if it's dark enough, however you cant really take a pictures of them with our cell phones. In these clips the earth is really bright and the focal point of the camera. By comparison distant stars are dim that extra information cameras cant detect as well as our eyes.

GHOST OF SPARTA It’s because you can’t see any stars in direct sunlight/daytime can you? The same applies up in space, if the sun is shining you’re not gonna see any stars because any are completely outshined by the sun, the same way it is during the daytime on earth. If you were on the space station as it was passing over the dark side of earth, THEN you would see stars.

I don't know why they make the horizon line curved... if you are hovering above a sphere, unless you can see the whole object, it will appear like a disc beneath you. With every point on the horizon being equidistant from the observer and converging up to eye level due to angular perspective, the horizon would appear flat... the Horizon is 360* around you not framed in a 2 dimensional image. No part of the horizon will appear to be "above" any other point, ergo, you won't perceive curvature on the horizon, ever. Only when you can see the entire object at once will you see it as a sphere.

@Click It If people did want to fake this, why would they leave out stars, they are observable for everyone! The reason you don't see stars in such footage like this is because of the reflection of the sun's light on the earth's surface and the less brighter stars from farther away are overpowered by our own.

@mangalvnam2010
@mangalvnam2010 5 жыл бұрын
It's a self-reflexion of the camera filming. When the sunrays reach the camera straight from the front, they briefly cause the camera to be reflected on something transparent before it. It looks that the camera is not outside the station, right exposed, but inside and in front of a window or hatch, what makes perfect sense, btw, for the safety of the device.

SPACE IS FAKE!!! Let me help u with your main question why lie about space?? That simply is to make us feel insignificant and turn us away from God considering so many planets, etc... we are way more significant and are God's children!! Besides that, we have capt.cook,admiral byrd,they say they lost the tech to go to the moon, but they are playing with remote control cars on mars??? Satellites are helped by balloons, and all ur GPS images are from high altitude aircraft. Phones and internet run off towers thats why u can pay them together!! Kubrick definitely filmed the moon landing, leaving you details in THE SHINING. even put an Apollo 11 shirt on the kid in it. The moon is out all day at 20% next to sun and is see through! Elons and nasa rickets hit the firmament leaving a water like effect with ripples and come back down. Programming won't let our own eyes see the truth. 1959nasa/1958 Antarctica treaty!! The rocket man von Braun has psalms 19.1 on his gravestone for Pete sakes!!! 70 mil a day and we don't have an authentic picture of our ((globe)) which was illegal to have in classrooms the 1600,1700. Get over it and wake up!!!

What if on the inside of the earth are magnetic monopoles and there is only open space between the inner center and the edge of the magnetic field (which is called the vector field in magnetic science in which magnetic interaction occurs) where matter accumulates and spins one way on the outer surface and the opposite way on the inner surface because of magnetic flux and electric charge which move in opposite directions due to the monopoles; and the middle substance of this "shell of matter" is molten because of the extreme heat caused by the friction of the inner and outer surfaces rubbing in opposing directions; and the north and south poles have "holes"... if you will... which lead to the inner part of the earth because the matter which makes the shell is locked upon the vector field which converges inward at the north and south poles?

Your bad at geography. All land masses are brown, vegetation is green. What satellites are you talking about? There are none in the video. You feel this isn't real because have seen many hours of CGI in movies. The real stuff is limited by the camera, the light that's there, the distance and the angle of the shot. You are used to fake stuff, so the real stuff looks wrong.

industrykenny 1. Its in a height in which no wind exists that effects the ISS 2. because of the bright earth you cant see stars, its like when youre in a big city, with many lights. There you cant even see stars in the night. Also, did you ever try to make a photo of the stars? Well then you may have noticed that you cant see any, because they can be only seen on either very sensitive cameras or when you use long shutter, but for that you need to stay at one point. So in future maybe think about why these phenomenoms appear, or dont appear, or just think twice.
