Hardly anyone will actually admit they liked Disco , myself included . I'm a diehard classic , old school Rock and Roll guy , but , there were a lot of great songs in the Disco genre ! The amazing thing about Earth Wind and Fire is they were always able to transcend into the music of the time , R&B , Soul , Disco , Funk , you name it . Just an iconic , timeless group 👍👍

Hating disco was a regional thing……in Miami, disco went way into the 8os…we all loved it and always admitted (?) it…😀🌴

I started with rock, buying Queen singles in 1977 and Santana....but really got into what actually came after disco....80's dance, rap/hiphop/electro and funk like Zapp and Bootsy. Then going a bit back to Parliament/Funkadelic and Supermax. Disco wasn't bad, it had great things and great things came after it because of it. At the end of the 80's I got into hardrock/metal as I was put off by gangsta(c)rap and house.

Best of my love was co written,produced and arranged for them by Maurice White the leader of EW&F, and EW&F is playing the instrumental on the song! Maurice White was a musical genius, RIP!

Oh- if you haven't heard any Earth, Wind and Fire songs with Philip Bailey singing lead you HAVE to! Reasons is the one to listen to first- make sure it's the liver version! EWF were the soundtrack to my high school years. Emotions (the ladies singing) also had a hit with Best of My Love.

The first concert I went to in Jr. High was EWF (the pyramids). They costumes were pretty much what lots of other bands were wearing (check out The Isley Brothers).

I saw them a few years back when I worked in Las Vegas, NV. I work in a Casino, and sometimes as one of the Perks, We could get tickets to these shows. Sometimes you get to meet them when they are staying with your Hotel & Casino. Everyone in the band was So NICE & Kind.
