EWF first released this hit in 1977 as Beijo(Brazilian Rhyme)-inspired by the 1975 original Brazilian Rhyme of Beijo Partido by Toninho Horta, and Ponta de Areia by Milton Nascimento. EWF obtained permission to use portions of the original tunes to add their stunning vocalization and funk rock music that took this tune to popular heights that the original never achieved. The extended studio version is a masterpiece-but their live version of this hit is something to experience.
