I know this song for two reasons. 1. My parents raised me on oldies music. 2. This song was in the first live action Scooby Doo movie and I absolutely loved it and would replay the scene countless times just for the song

I had to take drama when I was a freshman and they made us write a poem and recite it in class. I was lazy to do it so on the day it was my turn I got up and said the lyrics but real dramatic like. This girl yelled out, "TEACHER HE'S LYING! THAT'S A SONG!" Ms. Goldsen told her not to interrupt again. On purpose I did it more dramatically. She stood up and yelled out again and I said, "I can't perform if these outbursts continue." Ms. Goldsen sent her to the principal's office. I sang the last two lines as I pointed at the class then pointed at the ceiling like I was looking at a star. Shining Star For You To See What Your Life Can Truly Be Ms. Goldsen jumped up and applauded real loud. Like two years later she told me she loved Earth, Wind & Fire. Tina wasn't in class the next day.

Nineteen seventy five (1975) was the year Earth, Wind & Fire (EW&F) wrote themselves into the pop canon. And that had a lot to do with this jubilant, exultant chart-topping knockout titled “Shining Star”. “That’s The Way Of The World” was the soundtrack to an homonymous movie starring Harvey Keitel as a record producer and EW&F as the musicians he worked with. The film was a massive flop, but the album was a smash hit, capturing the sound of the group’s successful stage show on vinyl and going to #1 on the albums chart. It made EW&F the first R&B band to top the US album and Pop charts simultaneously. The failure of the picture did not drag EW&F down, thanks to Maurice White refusing to let the album be labeled a soundtrack. When the movie was reissued in America, it was under a brand new title : “Shining Star” (1977)❕ “Shining Star” earned EW&F a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1976. In 1995, EW&F received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The exact address : 7080 Hollywood Boulevard.
